Rob Howe just destroyed the KXNO

shock jock. WOW. I thought this one needed it's own thread. Basically said everyting Iowa State fans want to say to him. Great job Rob Howe. I know your a Hawkeye but you nailed it.

I smiled the whole time I heard it,
but Matt was out of line by saying Ricky Bobby Stanzi should have known.
It was uncalled for.

The Hawks deserve the terrible publicity,
they should have cleaned up the coke and drugs,
instead of letting the inner city drug culture thrive.

Here are some question I have:
How many more of his druggie freinds are currently on the team?
Was DJK just spending some money he recieved early from an NFL agent?
Is this gang like activity, or more like Bob Marley?

Doubtful, not if Joel McCrea (KXNO GM) ever visits this site to see the amount of play he gets on here, and probably hawkeyenation as well. Not to mention the traffic that is probably downloading the podcast from kxno right now...

While I agree Giggles gets a lot of play on CF, not all publicity is good. Haven't listen to a Matt & Miller podcast ever but if it's like Miller & Deace, all of the commercials are removed from the podcast (maybe someone can answer if that's the case with this "show"). So really it doesn't do much for KXNO to have a lot of downloaded podcasts if people don't listen to the commercials. And if the ads are still there, I'm guessing 9 out of 10 people skip over them anyway.

Matt's approach to the line of questioning was questionable. It appears his single biggest mistake was bringing up Stanzi. What I got from it was: DON'T EVER QUESTION RICKY STANZI!

To question Ricky would be un-patriotic...

“Of course, there’s nothing better than being American,â€￾ the Iowa quarterback said to Fox Sports reporter Chris Myers after Iowa’s 24-14 victory over Georgia Tech. “. . . If you don’t love it, leave it. USA, No. 1.â€￾:psmile:

I haven't listened but checked out Twitter and say this gem:

sportstalkmatt @davekenkel I'm not backtracking from anything. I just didn't like what happened today because a guest lost his crap on the air. Sad.
about 1 hour ago*in reply to davekenkel

Hilarious that Gigs is taking no role....the junior high "it wasn't me, it was you" **** is hilarious.

After listening to John and Rob circle the wagons and shout down anyone who happens to say anything that can't be confirmed by twelve witness, photographs and a notary makes me puke. John made a living off of 'speculating' on the am show with whatever topic he wanted to talk about. But he couldn't handle discussing hypatheticals or 'rumers' about anything Hawks or Captain K. I am all for defending your turf, but those two are tools.

Rob was right about Matt being a shock jock, but when is that news. Rob was looking for a fight and when you pick a fight with the guy that controls the mic you are going to lose!

Now that I have defended Matt, I am going to need to shower....

They both sounded pathetic, IMO. Rob Howe was obviously on his rag and flipped over a statement that I dont think was all that bad. However, Matt kept the feud going. It was fun to listen to, but if I was either one of them, I would be pretty embarrassed...

who cares whats fair... id say stanzi knew where and who DJK lived with.. how in the earth would he not know? theyve both been in iowa city for years... duh, to me that is a good association.

You have a very good point, there. Referencing and discussing "Social Media" rumors wasn't out of bounds when the Big 12 was supposedly imploding. Jon and Deace were happy to go into the specifics of the latest Orange Bloods tweets this past summer. Miller's recent diatribes against the rumor mill are a little hypocritical.

Don't agree at all. Perrault interrupted Howe (as he does everyone) when things escalated, and Howe would have none of it and kept talking. Then Perrault threatened Howe by saying "you're throwing away (coming on) this radio show."
Howe had a very good point when he said Perrault wasn't even a member of the media, because he doesn't do the work to keep informed.

Once again, the bigger man would have taken the high road and moved on but Howe kept at it and there was a moment both kept talking over each other and I was shocked they didn't cut to commercial sooner. Yes Rob was baited by Matt but instead of ending it there Rob mad it personal and embarrassed himself in the process. We all talk about how unprofessional Matt is at times but Rob stooped to his level and escalated the whole conversation into a personal attack. You aren't going to win that argument with Matt, he's that stubborn and those who listen to the show know no matter what you say he will spin it to his favor. Rob should have said let's move on to the next question or this interview is done and he would have saved face but instead he looked like an idiot by airing out his beef on-air.

The problem with Matt is him throwing out names and acting like he knows that Stanzi knows something. Stanzi should never had his name associated. Do I think players knew about DJK?? yes I do. However I don't know those names and it's not fair to a player to do that to his name unless you know for sure. Next thing you know a kid takes that info and runs to his message board to post something like "Stanzi Knew about DJK" and then it becomes fact. If you are a media member you can't be that wreckless.

I dislike Giggles but he was spot on with this one. It's a perfectly valid question no EIU supporter wants asked or wants to answer. How did Stanzi not know? How is it possible KF didn't know his STAR reciever was living with a convicted druggie? Put on top of that that DJK already had been in trouble.

Rob tried to call him out but it was the wrong moment. Unfortunately Giggles is spot on.

Matt was being his typical Dbag 'I'm better then you' self on the show and he was pushing buttons wanting to get what he got. I only listen to the show on my way home from work and luckily(or not) heard the ******* match. Matt let his temper get the best of him and yes he did say to cut Howe off.

But Howe came in looking for a reason to blow up. I'm sure he has been steaming all day because of the comments that giggles was posting via Twitter and probably should have known better then to come on the show when he did. He's a homer and makes his living being a homer, but he should have put off going on the show until his emotions were in check because you know coming in that giggles is going to be pushing buttons looking for a reaction and he lost his cool plain and simple.

Both of them sounded like jr high school girls by the end of the talk and I'd be embarassed as heck if I was either one of them.

That's not quite the whole truth. Jon shuts down the rumor mill when it involves people. He shut down the Wegher stuff, because a lot of the stuff getting thrown around would be extremely hurtful for those involved. Same goes with the latest player/drug rumors. Conference realignment, hot-stove topics as far as trades/free agency are fair game for discussion. But those are different than the Wegher/DJK/drug rumors.

He peeeed off us Cyclone fans why not go after Hawk fans and really dig yourself a hole. Good for Matt, don't say I didnt warren him but watch out for the crazy meth head hawk fans, they are a little more unpredictable.

See, I'm more willing to give a pass on this. What is the University supposed to do? Are they supposed to run background checks on all roommates, girlfriends, friends, associates, family members, etc. for all players? That seems a little excessive. It might be reasonable to inquire about some of those things if a player is showing signs of drug abuse, or if the team has reason to think something is wrong. Now, depending on what you believe caused DJK to lose his starter status for the Minnesota game, those signs may have been there, in which case I agree, the team probably should have checked into it. But, expecting them to keep tabs on all associates is asking way too much. And, if they did, what player is going to want to play for a team that would scrutinize their lives to that degree?

Okay, but after the whole Pierre Pierce debacle they were supposed to be sooo much more involved in their athletes well being.

So yes, I have a hard time believing it was never brought to KF's attention, another coaches attention or that there wasnt another player who didn't know. It's a very very reasonable question to have and also to doubt "no one knew". So yes, Giggles had a valid question and Rob wanted none of it. (homer response)

How so? Perpetrating false rumors about conference realignment has the potential to be hurtful as well.
