Rob Howe just destroyed the KXNO

You inferred that I listen to 1460 since I have a strong opinion on this thread. And yes I do stream 1700 all day even during Garmin/Cotlar time slot. I will take less douchey but possibly more non-shock jock radio over two guys that imitate the Rush Limbaugh philosophy of any radio listener is a good one. Sorry, but I just am not the type of person to listen to someone I don't care for.
From every thing I've heard, the morning show with the new guys isn't that good either.

Its not all that hot but I have a hard time believing you have never listened to it.

yeah, but you're not a member of the media. (unless you write for your middle school paper)

Have you heard the show yet? I'm not going to lie, Rob was the guy on the attack. Matt set him off by mentioning Stanzi, but after that, the vast majority of the talking was being done by Rob. Matt's part was basically some threats about not having Rob on the show followed by a lot of sputtering and saying things over and over again. "It's my GIG. It's my GIG. It's my GIG." It's not like they were really trading verbal blows. It was pretty one sided. Matt was in a corner, with nothing really to say when he called for Howe to be cut. If the attacks bothered him so much, he would have cut him a long time prior.

Oh snap:yes:

After listening to the podcast, I have to say that Howe is another hawk apologist. He is the same as Jon Miller, but with some credentials having worked at a newspaper.

Giggles on the other hand is a complete tool and the comparison to Marty was spot on.

Nope, I have XM in my truck and listen to Bloomberg on the way to work which is only 10 minutes away (I work and live in Ames) then stream 1700 at work.

I honestly have not listened to Matt and Miller since the Jon Walters interview. I told myself that day I would never listen again and I haven't. I know some people on here say they won't listen but they end up doing it anyway. Here's a list of a few things to remember when listening to Marty Perrault:

1. Matt is always looking for an argument. By not responding to Matt you don't lose the argument. It doesn't matter how loud he gets and how delusional his thought process is. If you don't respond, he has nothing.

2. It is sad and very telling that in the span of 8 months Matt has been called out ON HIS OWN SHOW by people he is interviewing, both of which are respected media members. It's obvious his peers don't respect him and that takes a ton of credibility away from him. He might be loud, obnoxious, narcissistic, juvenile, and petty, but most people know and understand that. He's just a loudmouth with a mic in front of him.

3. Matt does not understand the Midwest. He may have worked in this market for a few years, but he does not understand or relate to us. He's an East Coast guy with an East Coast attitude when it comes to media attention. It doesn't fit in this market because he doesn't/can't connect with his listeners. That can be remedied, but he doesn't try and doesn't care to try. Understand that he doesn't care, and it will take you a long ways in just letting what he says roll off your shoulders.

4. While Matt always yips about not making things personal, that's exactly what he wants to do and he does it masterfully. He says things in such a vague way that you can take it however you want, and he usually says them in an antagonizing way at a stressful time for a fanbase...like during a coaching search or the current situation at Iowa. He can always go back to say "well I didn't say THAT. Don't take it so personally. You have thin skin." Understand that he wants to make it personal even if he says he doesn't. By making it personal he gets you wound up and more likely to listen.

5. Matt thinks very highly of himself and there is no way that you are going to talk him out it. See #1

Rob Howe's number one priority: Defending the Hawkeyes

Matt Perrault's number one priority: Defending and promoting Matt Perrault

I have not listened to 1460 since May when I got XM, but I did have to listen to this podcast due to the length of this thread. Matt's questions were not out of line and are what everyone is thinking. Problem is that Howe obviously had issue with Matt and was looking for the first opportunity to punch. If I were Matt, I would have run him also. Why waste your time talking with a ********* Hawk who can't show you respect and insults you over and over? I would run him also. But that was the mistake of bringing a hawk to the program. Back to the national shows on XM and more of a guarantee that I will not listen to anymore of the KXNO girl fights.

Howe states on the podcast that we all learned that Robinson didn't fail drug tests. In fact, we didn't learn that, or really anything from that sham of a press conference.

Listening to this now....it is hilarious Matt threatening Howe with "throwing this radio show away".

End thread right now. Matts a ****** but Rob Howe sounded like a giant *****. That question was in no way out of line. Typical Hawkeye reporters/message board owners who get miffed when someone ever ?"s Iowa and KF.

Asking if Rob thought that other players knew about DJK's drug use is one thing, and that's a legitimate question.

But he was saying that Stanzi HAD to know, just HAD to, cause, you know....he's the quarterback.

I suppose Jeff Garcia has T.O. in his Fave 5, too

Too bad Matt didn't storm away to his corner to cry and then stay there.

Matt has a problem responding to people when they challenge him. That's what set this on the wrong path. He's a horrible interviewer.
I like how Matt says he's "throwing away this radio show" like that's a big deal. Big ******* deal, Matt. He doesn't even try to defend himself, like a little kid. "Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh."

No, they didn't come out and say it. But they did heavily hint that it was academics. Ferentz said something along the lines of: he just hasn't quite cleaned up some things that we've discussed before, going all the way back to the Ohio State game (he didn't start because he wasn't "dotting his 'i's and crossing his 't's in the classroom).

Yep I listend, and I dont agree with everything he said. Never said I did.

For Rob to bring out the fact that Stanzi and DJK probably do not hang out basically because of race was out of line. To say the QB did not know is asinine in my opinion.
