Rob Howe just destroyed the KXNO

They're both idiots.

+1

I listened to the podcast, and I would conclude they are both idiots, and listening to Howe confirmed what I suspected about Hawk fans.

All it takes is a little play on words by the AD at Iowa to make them feel that everything is a okay at their beloved program. They only heard what they wanted to hear in that press conference.

They are just like Auburn fans.

Doubtful, not if Joel McCrea (KXNO GM) ever visits this site to see the amount of play he gets on here, and probably hawkeyenation as well. Not to mention the traffic that is probably downloading the podcast from kxno right now...

If you remember, Marty got a lot of air when he dropped the f bomb too.

Ok good for you, i dont care what you listen to.

Side note, you cant seriously sit through the crap fest that is Garmin/Cotlar/Roundguy hour or 2 can you? If you do stream 1700 all day.
You inferred that I listen to 1460 since I have a strong opinion on this thread. And yes I do stream 1700 all day even during Garmin/Cotlar time slot. I will take less douchey but possibly more non-shock jock radio over two guys that imitate the Rush Limbaugh philosophy of any radio listener is a good one. Sorry, but I just am not the type of person to listen to someone I don't care for.
From every thing I've heard, the morning show with the new guys isn't that good either.

I would say that is like comparing apples to oranges. Marty was dropping F bombs on a co-worker and today was just 2 internet tough guys yelling at each other.

The question Matt asked was not out of line. The issue I had while listening was that he accused Ricky Stanzi of knowing that DJK was specifically using drugs. He later said he was using Ricky as an example but at the time he specifically said Stanzi over and over. I thought it was great radio. Rob took it too far and Matt came across as an immature ******. I thought he lost all high ground when he told Ken to cut Rob off.

I listened to the rest of the show and thought Matt came across as a immature baby.

As far as the issue about DJK and someone knowing. Someone almost had to have but Ken and Matt kept talking about how popular he was. He was extremely popular with the fans (including myself, I loved watching him play) but he was a 5th year senior who was never voted captain, never voted to the leadership council and lived with a non-football player. I remember taking my son down to the field at the spring practice last year and I watched DJK sit on his helmet on the sideline for about an hour and not one single teamate came over to talk to him. I am not sure he was all that popular with his teamates.

I really like the amount of work Matt puts into the show and I find him refreshing, but he is Marty Jr. I really feel bad for Ken as I think he is great.

Again, Rob could have just said he doesn't agree with Matt's assumption that Stanzi would know and state he has no proof of that and it's pure speculation. Just leave it at that and move on, Instead he got all worked up and played right into Matt's hands.

If it were me and Matt asked me that I'd say I don't know if Stanzi knew, I have no way of knowing and we'll never know unless Stanzi comes out and says it. To say anything else is pure speculation at this point. Odds are someone on the team possibly knew but until someone comes forward it's all speculation and not fact. Matt would have no other argument with an answer like that and if he kept pushing that Stanzi knew something it would be Matt not Rob that looked like the idiot.

Both guys looked childish with this today I thought but Rob was the one that caved in and let Matt get the best of him. He could have done anything from refusing to speculate to telling Matt if he didn't have any other questions then the interview is over and hung up but instead he started name calling and talking over Matt so to me that shows a weakness and that he handled a controllable situation poorly. Big the bigger man and take the high road and not stoop to a lower level.

Listening to this podcast, it's obvious that Howe was ready to fight before he came on the air. He overreacted big time, and comes off as more of a Hawk shill.

Still, I'm glad that he blasted Perrault. This is hilarious listening. Nothing like watching 2 enemies beat the **** out of each other.

Christ, Matt sounds immature though. This is Giant ****** v. Turd Sandwich. Oh my God! Is Howe crying? This is easily the funniest thing I've heard all week.

Don't agree at all. Perrault interrupted Howe (as he does everyone) when things escalated, and Howe would have none of it and kept talking. Then Perrault threatened Howe by saying "you're throwing away (coming on) this radio show."
Howe had a very good point when he said Perrault wasn't even a member of the media, because he doesn't do the work to keep informed.

I actually thought Rob was out of line as well. Matt said that it would be hard for him to believe that Stanzi (or another senior) would not know about DJK's drug house activities. He used Stanzi because of the traditionally close relationship a quarterback has with his receivers.

Howe's problem with Matt (justified) is the use of Stanzi as an example. He should have kept it as "another senior". That would have been agreed to, as Ferentz basically stipulated in the press conference, that he thought it was likely that players knew what was going on with DJK. I thought the funniest part was Matt "threatening" Howe with banishment from Matt and Miller, like he's Bart Giamatti talking to Pete Rose.

Regardless of which person you thought was in the wrong, Matt calling for Howe to be cut off was a pretty weak move. Who knows if Rob actually hung up before they could do it, but that doesn't really matter. Everyone heard him say it. Not too classy, Matt.

Well i wouldn't want him attacking me(if it was me) personally either. I would have cut him off too.

I thought Matt said "I'm done with this" and left his chair ... I guess I didn't hear him say to cut Rob off. Either or they both should have waited to have their pillow fight off the air.

That was certainly entertaining. Highly recommend.

I hate to say it because Matt is largely a dbag but people are a little hard on him IMO.

yeah, but you're not a member of the media. (unless you write for your middle school paper)

Have you heard the show yet? I'm not going to lie, Rob was the guy on the attack. Matt set him off by mentioning Stanzi, but after that, the vast majority of the talking was being done by Rob. Matt's part was basically some threats about not having Rob on the show followed by a lot of sputtering and saying things over and over again. "It's my GIG. It's my GIG. It's my GIG." It's not like they were really trading verbal blows. It was pretty one sided. Matt was in a corner, with nothing really to say when he called for Howe to be cut. If the attacks bothered him so much, he would have cut him a long time prior.

Matt's quote was "Cut him off. (stammers) I'm done."

Matt's approach to the line of questioning was questionable. It appears his single biggest mistake was bringing up Stanzi. What I got from it was: DON'T EVER QUESTION RICKY STANZI!
