Fear the Walking Dead?

in TWD do they address if the outbreak is worldwide? I assume it is, but how would/did it spread internationally? You have to be carrying the disease to spread it correct? That would mean a zombie was on a shipping boat or airplane and travelled internationally? Unlikely.

I think that the one indication of that is when they were in the CDC and the survivor there mentioned that Paris was making progress but dropped communications.

It would not take a zombie to travel - just someone carrying the virus or bacteria. And we have real world proof that not only is it possible to quickly disseminate a killer disease that way, it has happened.

There seem to be 2 different viruses or two different 'stages'.

Stage 1: virus that everyone has. Apparently has a rapid ability to spread, but little to no symptoms. (this actually works pretty well on some virus simulator games fwiw). Virus is nonfatal. People only turn once they die from other causes while at this stage.

Stage 2:

Something in bites causes a 100% fatal infection\reaction. After one dies, they then turn because everyone has stage 1.

So in this case, it was easy to spread it internationally because everyone could be asymptomatic on the flight while still being spreaders of the virus.

That's what I'm thinking.

I think it would have been neat to have the main characters of this show be govt, hospital, military and law enforcement officials who have to detect the pandemic, and then come up with ways to try to control it without causing chaos. Then, when it is spread and all the public is aware they have to change the way the country is run, resorting to marshal law, and dealing with the complete downfall of the market.

That show is called The Strain

So was it on purpose that the first introduced character who turned/died was a black guy? I am recalling that one article about the fate of black guys on the Walking Dead

Yeah, but she had no speaking lines, so she wasn't really introduced. I assume you are talking the opening scene. The dealer seemed like a character that would be in at least a few episodes, but they killed him off right away.

The only thing that was disappointing was waiting for my compatriot Ruben Blades to make it on-screen. Maybe on the next episode.

The same way Cal and everyone on TWD became infected... we don't know really.
Yes, and they are not going to explain it in this show either. This is going to show how quickly society can fall apart.
I just watched and it makes me want to buy some more ammo, and maybe an AR15.
