I think I'm more excited for this show than I am season 6 of TWD. I'm really curious to see how this all started and how the world went to crap.

That trailer looks like it will show how society fell apart in the early days. I'm not so sure it is going to explain what started the virus or whatever it is.

Likewise, although I don't know if I'd go so far to say I'm more excited for it than Season 6 of TWD.
My favorite part of apocalyptic disaster movies has always been the lead-up to the apocalypse itself. Going from the preview and trailers I don't think this will be any different.

The clips I'm seeing remind me a lot of the scene on the highway in season 1, where we first see Carol and a few others meeting Shane & Lori in that ginormous traffic jam.

I told my friends that I hated The Walking Dead because I wanted to know how the world got so ****ed up in the first place. So I will be tuning in.

Give it a chance. If you spend the whole time comparing, it will never find its own niche. We've had five or six years to become invested in the characters in TWD.
I like Cliff Curtis as an actor...I think he can carry a show. We'll see.
