Why? Should I ask Hawk fans, too? Or maybe Syracuse fans? Why can't we just ask ISU fans?
Because I was refering to a comment on how Morgan was a good college basketball coach and Morgan was head coach at Long Beach State coming to ISU.

Yeah, and there is "good news", too.You would be incorrect. If we have another year next year like we do this year, Greg is gone. We have some big boosters in the waiting that are waiting for a good coach before they donate large money. We would do a one year buyout easy.
He would do an KXNO interview once and week at 8:30 and he would just be getting out of bed. I think he had to be woke up to do it.
because he was a horrible coach. here's a question, even though he recruited great players why did we suck his last year here? we were clearly talented enough to get into the NIT at least, but no we couldn't even do that. watching games that year was the most frustrating thing in the world.

I'll say, not in this economy. And we have a good coach.
Besides which, I see no reason to expect us to have "another year like this year". Unless, of course, CB goes pro--and someone else gets hurt.
Because he coached at, and got fired at LBS maybe??? I don't know? Morgan was a desperation hire to keep Stinson and Blalock, without whom Morgan would have been gone in 2 years. His just rolled the ball out and said go play.
After firing Eustachy (who took us to two conference titles and a heartbeat away from a Final Four), Morgan (who could at least recruit), and then Mac (who inherited a mess), I'm sure that we'd have a long line of quality coaches looking to prove themselves--in three years or less.If you don't think that booster's will pony up 700K to get rid of him if we win 15 games next year than you live in a fantasy world.
I think we will be better next year and I think we will win 19 games and Greg will stay, but if he doesn't he is gone

<--just in case I needed it.
Awesome Rick,
McDermott does not recruit well. I don't know who told you that lie
Craig Brackins. Diante Garrett. Lucca Staiger. All of them were great recruits. Brackins was a five star, Garrett was a top 150 recruit, and Lucca was the #30 SF per scout. That's very good recruiting. Learn your facts before you are totally wrong.
Plus Colvin and Gilstrap will help with the non-whiteness aspect of this team. We lose 3 whities after this year in Peterson, Huluska and Thompson. That will help out a lot. Next year we could only have one white guy in the starting lineup, I am excited.

That is AVERAGE recruiting in major college basketball... We SHOULD be pulling 1-3 top 100 guys EVERY YEAR and rarely sign guys out of the top 150.

What makes you think I wasn't referring to midmajors under "quality coach"? Our usual coaching talent pool. As a matter of fact, where almost every major draws from--or assistants at other majors. Thus the "prove" part. Boy, you really do make your own assumptions and run with them.We are ISU, we are always going to have to take a mid major schools coach. Floyd, Eustachy, and McDermott. If we fired McDermott it would be the same way. To think it would be any different is laughable
