Its ridiculous. I am going to move on to the "next best thing". Who knows, maybe I'll even find something that I like better. Either way, it will be something I know I'll be able to get and know right where to find it.
Wife was at the grocery store (won't name it!) and the guy in line behind her had a bottle of TR...
And she never went to see if there was any more!
We have a new rule: If she sees a bottle in a store she needs to buy one. If that means making the cashier pause for a minute then so be it! GRRR!!!! Can't believe she didn't pick a bottle up!

You should be at that store right now, brother. Call the place, if they have some ,go get it, Very simple.

Quick question; does the cashier look at your funny picking up 22 bottles of liquor?
I had a glass at a buddy's during the Iowa/ISU game. I'm not a huge fan of straight whiskey but it tasted pretty damn good. Much better than Jim or Jack. I'm looking forward to getting some myself and splashing some coke in it. Plus the bottle itself is one of the coolest bottles of booze pretty much ever.
The wife won't tell me where/how/who she was able to get a bottle but tonight I was pleasantly surprised with a bottle of the good stuff! Heck of an early Christmas gift for sure! :jiggy:
4 or 5 cases left at guppys on the go on lindale dr in marion. They just added a liquor store 1 month ago so not many people know they sell it. They told me they got 10 cases on Friday so they are going fast.
Thanks for the info. Just went and picked up two bottles. They had a two bottle limit/customer. They still have 3 full cases left.
Only bad news: $56/bottle.
How does this compare to say Crown Royal? Not that I am concerned but just curious. I got mine due to the historical significance to my family. My dad was born and grew up in Templeton and my mom told me a story about how back during prohibition, my grandfather would leave once or twice a month for a job. This "job" involved him being gone for a weekend at a time. My grandfather never told my grandmother what this job was or what it entailed but my mom and dad later told me that he was running templeton rye to Chicago. Once I saw this article in the Des Moines Rag, it reminded me of the story and I had to get some. Didn't even realize they were still making it. Kind of a cool story anyway.
Yeah I thought that $56 a bottle was a little pricey. I seemed to remember it costing around $40.00 per bottle.
I got a bottle for a buddy who now lives out of state -- North Carolina to be exact.
Now the problem I have is getting the bottle to him. UPS or FedEx won't ship it because, duh, it is bootlegging (they will ship wine, on the other hand).
Will I be safe if I wrap it up good, put it in a box inside another box and take it to the post office to send?

You should be, I have done it a couple of times now with beer/liquor exchanges on another forum.
