How dare fans expect wins and be disappointed with tons of losses.
I'm sure you were sweating most of all.
I Love the ignorant strawman the "fans" on here create to try to mask their lack of knowledge.

This is exactly why ISU is in a tough position, if you fire Rhoads who do you hire? You start all over again and the odds strongly favor the next guy not doing any better.
If you would have asked this question a year before GMac was going to be sent off to Creighton, would anyone mention Hoiberg? That's why they have a firm help do this. Simply using "Who would you have as your next coach?" is a cop out response for people defending CPR. FTR, I wouldn't fire him after this year, I just find people who use that statement as a last resort when they can't back up what they say.
Why is that? Do tell!Because I do see improvement on the field. I see a group that is playing hard. I see a lot of young players that look the part of bcs players. I also understand the world doesn't exist in a vacuum.
If we are sitting here at 2-5 next year with no hope, then there can and will be serious discussions about the future of Iowa State football.
But, and this is the most ridiculous thing, all of these so called fans are doing nothing to help. There is a reason most of these folks were oddly silent when we were 45-45

Yours keeps calling me so it must be plenty for her

It's honestly not a cop out response for some. It's a legitimate question to see if those who want him gone actually know enough about football to name legitimate possible replacements. Some do name a few, some don't.
You dont need to be a cook, or an expert in hiring cooks, to know when the food quality sucks.
Sadly it's hard for anyone to constantly stick to the black diamond. They need to hit the bunny hill every once in a while.
WVU is likely too good for us to beat. Cold hard truth.

Yep. Many wouldn't have named Hoiberg as GMac's replacement back in March of 2010, but that doesn't mean calling for a change was wrong or based without reason.
We will need to replace CPR eventually, whether due to him leaving for another program, resigning, or getting fired. There is a long list of better coaches, and an even longer list of worse ones. Good thing there are guys that get paid millions to research and find the right guy.
It's still reasonable to expect intelligent people though to at least through a couple names out there. It's not a "guess the next coach contest." It's just seeing who people actually see as legitimate candidates. Not that hard to type the names Phil Montgomery, Jim Leavitt, and Doc Holliday on a forum.
First post to Cyclone Fanatic, so here is my two cents. First off, i refuse to believe that this football program is doomed to to the cellar of the Big 12 for all eternity. If teams like K-State and Baylor can have winning seasons consistently so can we. However, I believe that Iowa State is in a different position than a lot of other power 5 teams. Now I've only followed cyclone football closely since I started college here 2 years ago, but from what I've read about the history of this program we were and maybe still are in a deeper hole that almost any other power 5 team is or ever has been. I think thats why pollard has given rhoads so much time to succeed. It wasn't going to happen overnight or even in a couple of years, but if Rhoads can't win more than 6 games next year than i think you fire him. I f we can get to 4 or 5 wins this season that's improvement from last season. I'm not going to lie though watching the end of that game hurt it hurt real bad, but I bleed cardinal and gold.
Which is why it is completely idiotic to think you have any type of rebuttal based on someone not posting a list.
Rhoads is not "the one", not even close. He is a Chizik from Iowa with a better DC.
