So close to being a solid team.

How dare fans expect wins and be disappointed with tons of losses.

I'm sure you were sweating most of all.

I Love the ignorant strawman the "fans" on here create to try to mask their lack of knowledge.

The real fans were cheering the team and hoping for a win. The downers were secretly hoping for a loss so that they could ***** about Sam B and Rhoads. Typical...

This is exactly why ISU is in a tough position, if you fire Rhoads who do you hire? You start all over again and the odds strongly favor the next guy not doing any better.

Have you looked at our staff? Odds are good we will he starting over soon anyways.

Imo it is more likely we find someone better than CPR turns into a good coach. ISU has had some bad coaches, that does not mean Rhoads is anywhere near as good as it gets. You probably believe you married your soulmate too because she was better than your first couple slam-pieces.

If you would have asked this question a year before GMac was going to be sent off to Creighton, would anyone mention Hoiberg? That's why they have a firm help do this. Simply using "Who would you have as your next coach?" is a cop out response for people defending CPR. FTR, I wouldn't fire him after this year, I just find people who use that statement as a last resort when they can't back up what they say.

Because I do see improvement on the field. I see a group that is playing hard. I see a lot of young players that look the part of bcs players. I also understand the world doesn't exist in a vacuum.

If we are sitting here at 2-5 next year with no hope, then there can and will be serious discussions about the future of Iowa State football.

But, and this is the most ridiculous thing, all of these so called fans are doing nothing to help. There is a reason most of these folks were oddly silent when we were 45-45

Why is that? Do tell!

i agree with the bold, i just don't agree with people using that as an excuse.

As far as the Texas game, for my opinion, which means little like the rest of the people on here, it didn't sway anything one way or the other. Now if ISU loses Nov. 8, then as a fan I'll be concerned.

It's honestly not a cop out response for some. It's a legitimate question to see if those who want him gone actually know enough about football to name legitimate possible replacements. Some do name a few, some don't.

You dont need to be a cook, or an expert in hiring cooks, to know when the food quality sucks.

But if you are going to run your mouth about it rather than going to the restaurant next door than you must have an idea of how to fix the problem.

This is also way different because credentials of potential replacements are easily available. Seriously, all somebody has to do is copy and paste a list of potential Kansas coaching candidates and say those guys should be candidates to replace CPR.

Sadly it's hard for anyone to constantly stick to the black diamond. They need to hit the bunny hill every once in a while.

She said something about tiring of having to pretend that you were adequate. She said you weren't very smart, so you actually thought her laughing at you meant she was turned on.

I appreciate the coat she bought me though

WVU is likely too good for us to beat. Cold hard truth.

I can't bite my tongue anymore. You should probably step away from the forum. You are a miserable person. You get your rocks off by being perpetually negative. You predicted as 31-7 thrashing tonight. You were way the **** off. Balance your life out with a bit of perspective. You are like a black hole dude. Get a life.

Yep. Many wouldn't have named Hoiberg as GMac's replacement back in March of 2010, but that doesn't mean calling for a change was wrong or based without reason. Giving a list, or not giving a list, predicting the next coach or not- it does nothing but appease those that think they have dome rebuttal.

We will need to replace CPR eventually, whether due to him leaving for another program, resigning, or getting fired. There is a long list of better coaches, and an even longer list of worse ones. Good thing there are guys that get paid millions to research and find the right guy.

It's still reasonable to expect intelligent people though to at least through a couple names out there. It's not a "guess the next coach contest." It's just seeing who people actually see as legitimate candidates. Not that hard to type the names Phil Montgomery, Jim Leavitt, and Doc Holliday on a forum.

Which is why it is completely idiotic to think you have any type of rebuttal based on someone not posting a list.

Rhoads is not "the one", not even close. He is a Chizik from Iowa with a better DC.

First post to Cyclone Fanatic, so here is my two cents. First off, i refuse to believe that this football program is doomed to to the cellar of the Big 12 for all eternity. If teams like K-State and Baylor can have winning seasons consistently so can we. However, I believe that Iowa State is in a different position than a lot of other power 5 teams. Now I've only followed cyclone football closely since I started college here 2 years ago, but from what I've read about the history of this program we were and maybe still are in a deeper hole that almost any other power 5 team is or ever has been. I think thats why pollard has given rhoads so much time to succeed. It wasn't going to happen overnight or even in a couple of years, but if Rhoads can't win more than 6 games next year than i think you fire him. I f we can get to 4 or 5 wins this season that's improvement from last season. I'm not going to lie though watching the end of that game hurt it hurt real bad, but I bleed cardinal and gold.

Welcome aboard! What I saw in that game tonight was a lot of promise on the offensive side of the ball. If we can hang 45 points on a good defense like Texas, we definitely have a chance to win games. This team has been through a lot already this season with all the injuries and adjusting to new coaches. I believe they are just now finding their stride.

CPR is in no way that arrogant. Even so, he's got get the whole team in sync, and teach these kids how to win. Chizik didn't even get to the point of needing ot teach his players to win.

Let's bring back Wane Morgan. He had success. We are Iowa State. We can't expect to go to the NCAA three consecutive years, so Morgan has to be given a pass for not bring able to do that.
