For Rob to bring out the fact that Stanzi and DJK probably do not hang out basically because of race was out of line. To say the QB did not know is asinine in my opinion.

No, they didn't come out and say it. But they did heavily hint that it was academics. Ferentz said something along the lines of: he just hasn't quite cleaned up some things that we've discussed before, going all the way back to the Ohio State game (he didn't start because he wasn't "dotting his 'i's and crossing his 't's in the classroom).

That is exactly how things work in press conferences. I am sure he hasn't cleaned up his academics, but it doesn't mean that was all that is there. Basically it was an easy way out and he didn't even have to lie.

Saying people don't hang out because they are from different areas is a far cry from racism. That's a dangerous leap to make.

I'd have to listen again (not sure if I could survive that much laughter again, though). But there are guys, and then guys from the city is not necessarily the race card. I'm a white kid from rural Iowa, and I don't have much in common with a lot of the white kids from Chicago. That's how I read that.

Didn't call it racism. Meant it as that it is a QB and a WR. They have been together for 4 years. They hang out because they are forced to through their position meetings. Even though they may have nothing in common, they are still forced to be together most of the school year. To say that since they from different backgrounds and do not hang out I think is off-base.

Expecting Ricky Stanzi to know what's going with drug dealers and his starting wide receiver is ludacris (Luda!) on Matt's part. Ricky clearly decided to focus his efforts on Dirty Hippies that hate America.

Had Howe made that point I could get on board with his side of the argument.

There is a possibility that Ricky Stanzi may have sat in on a class with a communist. Yes, the American quarterback, the "Love it or leave it, USA No. 1" quarterback, might have shared class space with a Marxist, socialist or communist. We are talking Iowa City and the University of Iowa.
