CGC..

While the 'culture change' thing has been stamped around for a while and sounds great, let's see where things are in mid-late October before acknowledging any kind of real culture change, and/or if this year's team is 'completely different', considering the only thing going for it is there's a few experienced players coming back.

Very true. It is certainly reasonable for changes to need to be proven before they are able to be pointed to as fact. Guys like Stormin and Rusty have done this fallacious raindance every year. Let's hope they are finally correct.

Every year? I said last year the team has talent but wouldn't be surprised if it takes another year to reach it. The coaching staff felt the same way as they said they have a long way to go. Being nailed with injuries didn't help matters. Now, like I said last year, they will be good this year. Now that they have experience on the field and in the system. More time to develop physically and mentally.

So you start a thread about things being dead and people not talking about the CGC closed invitation practice. And then when someone asks, you invoke the rules criteria that you can not discuss the Practice.

So tell me the purpose of this thread.

Stormin, it's alright. I understand rules. I think it will be more exciting once I see it in person! I just wanted some general info like if all this hype is standing up for itself or if we are in trouble again (which you answered in a previous post). Thank you.

And to the rest of you: sorry about yesterday, the emotions got the best of me. Don't mean to call anyone back, front, side, or groin stabbers. I just want what everyone else wants which is a team that has the drive and willpower to come out and compete. I just didn't like all of the negative post especially since they haven't seen them played yet.

What I can say is this...this team is out there on a hot day working their tail off to try to get better and the enthusiasm among the team was apparent. Nobody wants to win and play well more than these players..no one.

Stopped reading after nobody wants to win.

That's great. It's always like that before the season starts. The proof is when adversity hits. Will this team get up and compose it's self or fold like last year's team because there will be adversity in that first game vs UNI.

How will they react when a key turn over happens, or when there is a breakdown on defense and UNI scores on a big play. Because all this talk about a "winning culture" means jack crap until the team actually shows some mental toughness and grit.

BINGO.

No you don't. I played college basketball I can tell you I wanted to win far more than any damn person watching...I didn't work my *** off to get better so some fan could feel all good for 24 hours after my performance.

Nope, I do.

good thing Mangino said they are showing mental toughness this year, unlike last year.

The fans that think they want to win more than the players are the dipshits that are wrong with sports. You may THINK you want it more, but they have so much more invested than a fan that thinks they are invested from spending money on the program. I desperately want us to win, but realize it's just a wish and I have nothing to do with it.

Can anyone even say if we came out of the CGC scrimmage injury free?

If we didn't, I don't need to know any names or anything, just want to know if we came out ok?
