CGC..

Was a good time. This is my second year in the cgc and the first time i actually attended an event. I'm not going to say anything specific about the on the field results per the rules, but will say this...

Pretty sure the wind/kicking will be drastically changed in the stadium. Most the cgc folks sat up under the shade of the upper deck and there was a constant strong breeze from the south that i didn't really notice outside the stadium.

Even with the modest crowd there it sounded like the crowd noise will have a different sound to it to me. This may make little to no sense but it sounds more tinny.... more remenescent to the crowd noise in somewhere like Kaufman or arrowhead. Like the higher pitch echos more and kinda lingers longer than the bass.

All I'll say about the practice is, what the coaches have said in the media interviews is on point.

I know a guy close to the program who is very honest and calls it like he see's it. With that said he told me that last years team looked like crap on both sides of the line, this year he sounds pretty confident about the offensive and defensive lines.

If the team gives up, You (Cyclone Fans) have to show them that you will support them and show them that there is still fight in them. I'll give you an example, I was a wrestler at my high school (a very good one) but I had times that I gave up because I had no confidence and lost my way at times. If I didn't have people supporting me, telling me its ok and to keep on fighting, then I would have lost all hope and quit the sport. As supporters of this sport, we must support the kids through thick and thin. And to see people just completely give up on them makes me sad. We must show that we won't give up on them and they will follow suit.

We got up on NDSU 14-0 only to be manhandled by an FCS team. The rest of the year was no better. Seriously we beat a pedestrian Iowa team and a freaking MAC team. Don't blame the fans at all. We are not the problem.

I always love the self righteous dude declaring ISU fans not loyal enough or supportive enough.

The ratio of success to fan support for ISU football certainly has to be the best in the entire country.

You really need to move on. "This year's team" is completely different than last year's team. So just stop.

We need to change the "culture" of our Fanbase in much the same way that we have changed the "culture" of our football team. Remove the Cancerous Attitudes.

Cyclone fans are optimistic about the coming season. WHY do you continually want to throw a Cold Bucket of Negativity on their enthusiasm? What is it that makes you continually do that?

Stormin, if I tried really hard could I make you laugh? Could I make you crack a smile? Or is it your lot in life to sit in this forum, cross your arms, purse your lips and scold anyone who you think steps out of line? I'm a little worried about you.

Good deal...nice to hear some general confirmation of positive speak that's come out so far.

At this point, if players are truly buying in to the program, some good things have a chance of happening.

I'm surprised the 'culture' change keeps coming up, as in, it's odd that it dipped so low so quickly, but perhaps that's also a result of this being Rhoads's first head coaching gig.

I remember McCarney changing things up a bit after the 2003 season, and the '04 squad was an OK team.

While the 'culture change' thing has been stamped around for a while and sounds great, let's see where things are in mid-late October before acknowledging any kind of real culture change, and/or if this year's team is 'completely different', considering the only thing going for it is there's a few experienced players coming back.

Truth. There is no such thing as a fair weather ISU football fan. That would imply we've had fair weather. Our 'weather' has been a cloudy day at its best, and a sharknado at its worst.

Agree. The new stadium or SEZ looks awesome. All lit up at night with new ribbon boards and a full house and that place will look prime time. It actually makes the stadium look smaller I thought...which makes sense as befor it was so open. But this feels like a real fball stadium and the noise level will be magnified by a lot.

yeah, the wind is going to be interesting. One time I noticed the flags on the south goalposts were dead while the north goalpost flags were almost straight out. I guess at least our kickers will have a chance to get used to it.

Certainly, if there is no success then everything is a moot point. Change will take place. But for those predicting gloom and doom, just stop. Let the actual season play out. WHY dampen the enthusiasm of Cyclone fans? WHAT positive good comes from it?

Cant talk about it. Sorry. Rules.

So you start a thread about things being dead and people not talking about the CGC closed invitation practice. And then when someone asks, you invoke the rules criteria that you can not discuss the Practice.

So tell me the purpose of this thread.

Clearly he was excited about it. Stop dampening his enthusiasm, bruh.

It's different, just get over it.

it was really a two part post..one complaining about how dead it seems and the other asking if anyone else was going.
