Boy this place is dead. People have just given up on fball it seems. Any way. Anyone else going today?

It's sad to see people give up so easily. But this shows you who is a true cyclone fan(sticking through thick and thin) and who isn't.

Closed event to Gridiron Club Members watch practice. A lot of people are not members. It is Hot out today. And lots going on.

Irony at its finest. The team gave up last year themselves... So are they not true Cyclones either?

It's strange because it seems like most people are pretty apathetic, but yet ticket sales are going pretty well.

If the team gives up, You (Cyclone Fans) have to show them that you will support them and show them that there is still fight in them. I'll give you an example, I was a wrestler at my high school (a very good one) but I had times that I gave up because I had no confidence and lost my way at times. If I didn't have people supporting me, telling me its ok and to keep on fighting, then I would have lost all hope and quit the sport. As supporters of this sport, we must support the kids through thick and thin. And to see people just completely give up on them makes me sad. We must show that we won't give up on them and they will follow suit.

Not sure why anyone should express excitement about the coming season. Expressing positive thoughts will be met with comments that you are "drunk on the Kool Aid". That you are "delusional". That "our football program is a dumpster fire". And on and on.

For most of us, we see potential in the coming season that it will be better than the last 2 seasons. And with the way ticket sales have gone, it appears that the majority of Cyclone fans are optimistic as well.

You are right. It seems like on the football threads, everyone has to say some negative bs for every positive comment that comes on here. Ya, it sucks having a football team fall apart but I still love Iowa State and know they can turn it around. It seems like this year they have nothing to lose and are going to play their hearts out!

Not the way things should be done according to the Negative Nancy's here. Your lack of success should have resulted in you being jeered and humiliated. No one should have cheered your efforts. Only the successful are worthy of our support. We just need to demand that they be champions. And those that fall short should be gotten rid of. People that are loyal and root for athletes and teams that struggle are the problem according to the Negative Nancy's. Demand perfection and we will get perfection according to them.

There is more to ISU athletics than just football threads on CF. 1000 cyclones were at the all sports meet the coaches thingy the other night.

Sure. Guess it just seems compared to last year at this time things on this board were a lot more busy fan wise. Maybe as game gets closer it will be different. Side note...I love night games for us fans but I gotta say I'd rather this UNI game was an 11am kick. As much pressure that's on this game for this entire program a night game is a lot of time to sit around all day thinking about crap and wasting energy. 2 years ago ISU just seemed flat and came out slow. Hope I'm wrong.

I would rather come in with low expectations and maybe be surprised, then come in with high expectations and know I will be disappointed.

Thats just me though. If you want to be all excited and happy for this season, then more power to you. Im just not falling for the crap CPR is selling this year.

What's funny is people "fell for it" last year when the staff didn't seem encouraged, but they wont when the staff actually does.
