CGC..

What team is injury free? We had more injuries than most but not every injury is this crazy freak occurrence.

Teams get injured. ISU has had two very bad years in a row, which may or may not be a coincidence.

And if you are going to add players back and replay the losses, replay the wins as well.

Add Farniok, Bundrage, a couple of the JUCO Dlinemen back who have never played D1 football before and replay Iowa, Toledo, TTech, Texas, and KSU do you think we go undefeated? I don't think so.

You can't just replay the losses and keep the wins.

I'm not replay any losses and keeping the wins. I'm just giving you a thought. I don't think we would win all the games but by god we would have at least competed. Those individuals that were thrown on the field were freshman and sophmores. They were not ready for Division 1 football. I believed if the injury bug didn't happen to Iowa State then we would have at least won 2-4 more games. That's my prediction but the past is the past.

Are we talking about last year or the year before? Same exact reasoning. I pumped myself up with the same hope before last year and it made me look like a *******.

We had plenty of upperclassmen playing last year.

Richardson RS JR
Nealy RS JR
West RS SR
Jensen RS SR
Gannon RS SR
Farniok RS SR
Wimberly SR
Miller SR
Morrissey SR
Brackens SR
Bibbs SR
Richardson RS JR (CB)
Omoile RS JR
Lynn RS JR
Lalk RS JR (was he injured?)
Taise JR
Taylor JR
Pierson JR
Floyd JR

Pretty sure Rhoadhoused is a cutter, you guys. #SelfMutilationNation

Very intelligent response.

You do understand that someone wouldn't believe that, just because there is absolutely nothing but conjecture and hope informing that opinion, right?

Maybe we breakout this year, but for anyone to confidently predict it seems crazy to me.

The offense certainly has tons of talent and we added some talented defenders, but there is still a whole lot with this team that is exactly the same as last year.

No matter how you spin it injury or not last year would have been the worst season by far and it's not close(CPR era). But going into the season it was known. The entire staff knew they were rebuilding, they said over and over they had a long ways to go.

They ALSO knew they had a talented team. Taller, faster, stronger top to bottom than any previous team. But you have to develop that talent into football players. They had a lot of inexperienced players and a lot of new coaches.

That's why they kept saying they had a long ways to go, and that's why they aren't saying it anymore. They aren't raw players anymore, they aren't new to the system. It isn't a divided locker room. We actually have DT's this year. No defense is good without a bad DL. People underestimate the loss of Irving and Coe big time.

Why didn't they fix it before last year then?

You can't just fix injuries. The fact that you believe you can says a lot. You can convince yourself of anything.

Our strength coach left our team and we hired his protege? Are we convincing ourselves that Oyster is going to be far better or that McKnight was forced out? How are we spinning that as a positive?

Yes you can look into ways of changing what you were doing that may have led to injuries, even with the same strength and conditioning coach. You're an idiot if you think I meant we aren't getting hurt anymore and Yancy was forced out.

I'll go on the record as saying I think our "bonus" injuries were a result of some of our "state of the art" training equipment and methods. We were using unproven, experimental methods and building size way too fast. Guys got bigger but they weren't durable. This led to our injuries.

It's been inferred by the staff that they backed off the experimental stuff. Hopefully the effects don't linger another couple years until everyone who went through that period is through the system, but if there's one thing that worries me about this year, this is it. More than coaching, schemes, staff, chemistry or sheer talent and athleticism, it's the injuries, specifically to our lines.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm glad McKnight is gone, I just wish they'd have brought in someone from outside.

To be fair, I don't think that actually required you pumping yourself up with hope, it likely would've happened anyway.

So here are the things that need to go right for ISU to, say, win at least 6 games:

-Absolutely no injuries
-Demond Tucker has to be All Big 12 talent
-Ayeni, Luna, Aka, Pierson, Taylor, that new DE guy are almost all good players, take a step forward, and form a decent 2 deep
-All offensive players we return take big steps forward. Specifically Richardson, Lazard, DVM
-A couple totally untested RBs present themselves as above average B12 RBs
-Our line overcomes losing Farniok and is much better than last year. Omoile, Taise, Campos, Dagel all take steps forward and become a cohesive unit
-Cotton Moya continues his progression as a top young safety in the B12 with no setbacks
-Tribune makes a huge leap to make up for his lack of improvement his SO year
-Harris couldn't get on the field last year but this year he is an above average LB in the B12
-We can field two average warm bodies at the other LB spots and the safety spot opposite Moya
-Bibbs and West are somehow replaced by committee

What did I miss? What is or isn't happening this year?

Maybe someday if you pay attention to football long enough you'll understand how to see talent and potential on your own. I'm not saying this is a Big12 Championship team, but it's going to be competitive in most of its games and should be at least 6-6. How is that sunshine pumping you ****** bag?

Are you that much smarter than vegas?

I understand being a little more bullish than them on your favorite, I often am and it's normal. But to say "at least 6-6" when our over/under for the season is 3 wins?

Take a flight and take out a loan and go make yourself some money if you think that is the case.

Nobody thinks you're a sunshine pumper because you're optimistic, it's because you're so insanely off the wall it's a whole new level of arrogance mixed with willful ignorance and blind faith.

just for the record. Shane B is on record saying they might have made a mistake recruiting Jeremiah George when they saw him in 2011...then a year later he was all big 12 and is in the NFL. Some guys a light just goes on and they get it at this level. Some get it right away. Here's to hoping Harris gets it now.

Well, maybe those losers in Vegas need to pay attention to football long enough to be able to see talent and potential on their own.

You guys act like this team has to be perfect to win 6 games. If it was perfect it would win 12.

So we're just skating past the fact that you're predicting 3 more wins than Vegas MINIMUM and you are insulting others' ability to scout talent themselves?

Did Vegas predict us to go bowling the other three times CPR took us bowling? You know they can and do change those odds often though out the season right?
