Carver packed them in tonight

Anyone ever listen to Fran on his call in show or post game? No wonder the team has no identity. I dont believe he knows what his teams identity is supposed to be. He rambles for 10 minutes when asked a simple questions and you feel stupider after listening to it.

If you're going to fire him, this is the year to do it. Sure you lose out on Connor McCaffery but I'm sure Wieskamp will come to Iowa no matter who is coaching and that kid is a stud.

I remember when ISU beat ND in the NCAA tourney and posters here were convinced they would fire Mike Brey and hire Frannypants. While ND is not good this year and things will get worse with Colson out for 8 weeks, they have been to a couple of Elite 8’s since then and Fran has well, been mad.

Yeah, and they were completely full of ****.

Preposterous.

The problem for Iowa is Patrick is legit good. Connor was never the kid who was going to be a star, Patrick is.

I hope Iowa keeps him around.

All joking aside, I don't see how Fran doesn't pull a McDermott at the end of the season. Find a mid-major with some history of success and offer a package deal - 3 McCaffrey's for the price of 1.

I don't like it as an ISU fan but it is his only way out of this mess without destroying his son's opportunities.

If he and Barta want to continue to flounder, more power to them.

He's always opting for the easy way out in recruiting, that's for sure.

He’s Dan McCarney. Emotional, loaded up with in state players to get the locals excited. He got them to the best of the bad teams of the conference as they regressed.

Hes just not good enough of a coach to take another step

If they're happy with Fran, then I'm more than pleased. This was supposed to be an up season for them because "development" and "height". Fran just runs out a bunch of tall lanky guys with (apparently) little to no thought of recruiting and developing a team. He's always had a couple of nice players, but there's never much player development or chemistry.

He's basically toe's Wayne Morgan. Similar winning percentages, Fran's 3 NCAA's in 7 years with 2 wins vs Wayne's 1 NCAA in 3 years and 1 win...

If Iowa doesn't win at Rutgers, could go winless until season finale vs. Northwestern. I suppose Fran will squeeze a couple mild upsets along the way (something like home games vs IU or Minnesota).
Yeah it's getting to the point Fran might lose his job. That'd be too bad

It seems unusually weird for ISU / UNI / TOE to all be struggling at the same time; basketball in the state of IA can't wait for the '17-'18 season to end. just a weird time

We’re not struggling. We’re doing exactly what everyone thought we would do. Might even be a bit ahead of schedule from what I thought would happen. Plus we have had a bunch of injuries.

Hopefully this is what gets Fran out of there. There's just no reason to be this bad at this point of his career. I honestly don't know what the team does at practice because it sure as hell doesn't seem to be basketball fundamentals.
I'm betting there is a whole lot of this
