UNI's resume wasn't that good going in to their game vs ISU. The media propped that team up.

UNI skated by on a couple of "good" losses (UNC and Nova, games that weren't that close), decent wins vs. SMU and NC State. UNI hasn't defeated a D-1 team since Dec. 7.

UNI skated by on a couple of "good" losses (UNC and Nova, games that weren't that close), decent wins vs. SMU and NC State. UNI hasn't defeated a D-1 team since Dec. 7.

UNIs extreme slow down style is always going to skew games. Sometimes it leads to an unexpected win, or a loss that seems closer than the talent gap actually was.

Without adjustments ISU could have easily folded against UNI. But we didn't. We have more talent than them and we proved it.

Same with Iowa. They shot very well and often in the first half against ISU. Second half ISU clamped down and won the game.

ISU is well ahead of UNI and Iowa in the talent category and it should get better in the near future.

We’re not struggling. We’re doing exactly what everyone thought we would do. Might even be a bit ahead of schedule from what I thought would happen. Plus we have had a bunch of injuries.

Just because we were expected to struggle doesn't mean that we aren't struggling. We are most definitely struggling. There are good reasons but we are.

Lard certainly isn’t struggling. NWB isn’t struggling, Wigginton has been great. Solo has been Solo. Beverly is struggling. Struggling is a harsh word we’re not collapsing as a team. We did a lot of good things in our last game against superior talent and we’ve shown some really nice things when Brase is healthy. We’re scoring at an okay clip. Our defense isn’t that bad for the experience we have playing together and the total lack of experience of Wigg & Lard. Our coach isn’t melting down every game. Our players aren’t jawing back at the coach.

This team is learning not struggling imo and that’s a big distinction.
