Carver packed them in tonight

All joking aside, I don't see how Fran doesn't pull a McDermott at the end of the season. Find a mid-major with some history of success and offer a package deal - 3 McCaffrey's for the price of 1.

I don't like it as an ISU fan but it is his only way out of this mess without destroying his son's opportunities.

If he and Barta want to continue to flounder, more power to them.

I always support the Iowa coaches and players. I thought it was time for Lick to go but I didnt root against him while he was coach.

If you thought it was time for him to be fired you weren't a Lickliter supporter then. Derp

Not a good thought process, but if ISU is bad, it's comforting that Iowa is bad. Our season would feel worse if they were rattling off W's.

Iowa non Conf SOS was one of the worst in all P5 and their BOG schedule is very favorable this year..

Any coach in his 8th year after missing tourney previous year wouod be long fired after this debacle

I agree. Will see if Barta has the stones to do it or not.

I have no idea why anyone would want to play for Fran, with his temper. He must be incredibly nice in practice/person than he appears to be in the heat of battle.

I have no idea why they have 12 players averaging over 10 minutes a game. There is just no way to develop chemistry.

However, I wouldn't give up on Fran. Expectations were far to high this year. 8 of their top 9 players in average minutes are FR/SO and the only other one is a former walk on junior. Unless you are getting McDonald's All Americans, teams that are that young are just going to struggle. I bet you can't find an NCAA team with numbers like that without having 2 or 3 Top 50 recruits.

Next year is the key. With their experience, if Fran is a decent coach, there is no reason Iowa shouldn't have a good team next year. If he can't make next year's team work, he's toast.

If I were him, I'd cut down to an 8 man rotation (maybe 9) and stick with it.

So you actively cheered against ISU football while Rhoads' tenure was closing? Doubt it, you still supported him and the program if you are worth a **** as a fan.

I actively cheered against ISU during Jim Walden's final year when they went 0-10-1. The problem is that many of the years up to that point, he'd pull off an upset and keep his job, while the team was still garbage. Thus after the team didn't win any of their non-conference games, I wanted them to lose to ensure Walden would be history. Thus I was rooting for ISU (in the long run) to get rid of the current problem at that time.

This. Start practicing like you have a rotation of 8 and stick to it. If they practice like they play there is no way in heck they can develop any in game chemistry or flow.

If they did that, they'd lose their #amazingdepth!

So you would be mad if Fran got fired this year?

I wouldn't be if things keep going the way they are going. He did a good job of getting us out of the Lickliter mess, but I feel has taken us as far as he can. Time for a change if things don't get better fast.

But I'm guessing that Barta won't do anything this year unless ticket sales keep going down too.
