Cap City League 6/28

Who do we lose next year, just Kane and Bubu for guards? If he can't find PT against them this year, not going to going forward. If JUCOs don't play or contribute right away, get the scholarship off the books asap, like State43 said.

Bubu-RS/Sr and Kane-RS/Sr this season will be better than Custer-Fr and whatever other guard we sign IMO in the 2014-15 season. I'm saying Bubu and Kane will be better players as seniors than Custer/other guard will be as freshmen. Unless it's Vaughn. And in a year Bluford will be a better/stronger player too.

Why is it okay to red-shirt a high school kid with potential but not a juco kid with potential? Potential is potential. Bluford is a skinny 6'2 185 lbs from what I have seen. You put 20 lbs of muscle on him, work on his defense, and work with Hoiberg on improving his shot; he could be a much better player.

Bluford will never come close to being as good as SDW can be. We aren't Redshirting players unless they are athletic freaks who just need more bulk or work on their basketball skills.

Most basketball players don't want to redshirt either anyways. And Fred isn't going to RS someone who doesn't want it.

Holy ****, you're obsession with red-shirting players is ******* weird.

How do you know that he won't be as good as Dorsey-Walker or won't consider a red-shirt? Because he didn't have the number 125 next to his name on rivals?

Because certain players could benefit from a red shirt year. That's why.

I have an activity I think you'll like - find the last time, and/ or frequency of JuCo's who redshirt as a D1 (not because of medical reasons). I'm genuinely interested, and you seem to like to do research.

Per minute he was. He was 1st in ppm, 3pmpm, spm, 2nd in least turnovers per minute, he played good defense, made a ton of hustle plays, and hit clutch shots. He was our second best player at worst.

Well he was our best shooter. He was also 6'2 tops and didn't play great on ball defense or handle the ball that well. He was a pure scorer who hustled. I would have given up Clyburn, Ejim, Niang or probably even Lucious for him. Luckily we didn't have to and he did what he was supposed to do very well. You can give me per minute stats all you want but he wasn't a sixth man defender that a lot of programs have. As a sixth man scorer, he should be towards the top in a lot of stat categories. He is Blufords ceiling. The other thing you fail to realize is that it's not likely he will have more minutes in 15 than he will now. There isn't a guard outside of Bubu on the roster who will be gone by then and if he can't find time this year, their learning curves (especially Thomas, Morris, and SDW) will be steeper. So essentially you want us to buy him a year to sit in roughly the same place as he is now instead of trying to get a new kid in the 15 class that can do more in the future. That doesn't make any sense.

As a question, this is a solid one.

I don't think we redshirt Bluford, but potential is potential.

Bluford will more than likely be a better player as a RS/Sr than a couple of true freshman in the 2015-16 season. He more than likely won't be a better player as a Jr than two RS/Srs Kane and Bubu in the 2013-14 season.

Occasionally but it's not that common of a practice in basketball. Bluford will never be anything more than a good shooter and a potential spark off the bench. Thomas, Walker, Morris and Naz have a lot more all around talent than bluford. Our backcourt is congested enough we don't need him for three years.

Based off of what? The Cap City League? A rivals profile?

You really need to give up on this.
