Another arrest

Where is the podium? I have to post on how much smarter I am then these college kids....
Kids will be kids. Thankfully no one was hurt and he will be smarter next time. I. NEver got in trouble for this despite driving over 50 times under the influence. Older and don't risk it now but when you are young, many times you make bad decisions. People need to get over themselves.

I don't agree with any of this. Smarter next time? The Nader OWI just happened and that should have grabbed everyone's attention.

Matt is from the La Crosse area. It was only a matter of time.

He's 19 and by definition stupid. I was when I was 19. I'd venture to guess the majority of posters in this thread were too. You just didn't get caught.

Fred will make him run stairs at Hilton till he pukes, he'll miss 3-5 games and everyone will move on. Nothing to see here.

Hoiberg suspended Jordan Railey two games for getting an OWI in the middle of the season om New Years Eve. No way Thomas or Nadar get more then a two game suspension from an OWI in the offseaon.

Welp.....drinking would explain why once a game he would be standing 3 feet out of bounds when he caught a ball. Smh.

How many if you dogging on MT for drinking and driving have texted while driving? I'd bet my mortgage at least half of you, half. And texting is now considered 4-5x more dangerous than driving under the influence by the government....studies are clear. Your eyes are off the road. WTS, I'm not condoning what MT did just telling some to put things into perspective with what I know they've done and prob still do

I would like to think hed get a Raileyesque two game suspension but my fear is that only a couple months removed from the Nader owi that Fred may want to send a message to the guys and be more severe. Fact is though that regardless of how severe the punishment these KIDS will still make mistakes.

Always a shame seeing student athletes in the police blotter, but I hope that the lesson is learned and that the process he is about to go through ultimately leads to Matt learning a life lesson relatively cheaply when judged against the ramifications if that same choice had lead to tragedy.

Whenever a student gets into trouble I think of that quote in the Memorial Union by RJ Riggs "We come to college not alone to prepare to make a living, but to learn to live a life". That preparation and learning never comes without mistakes, in fact, the lessons learned from mistakes are often those we learn the most from.

I'm certain that Matt (and Nader) will have all the resources and support that they need to learn from these situations. If there are any issues deeper than an isolated lapse of judgement I hope these young men are able to get the support and guidance from their teammates, coaches, and families. There is no avoiding the glare of public scrutiny when you are in a high profile position, but hopefully that scrutiny will be a positive force that encourages reform and accountability. I am really glad my life wasn't under the microscope at that age, I don't think that I could have handled it.

This is probably the third different time I've asked you to provide sources, but can you provide a link to the studies?

It depends a lot on what he blew, but it's hard for me to criticize the kid when I'm a 30 year old who eats Chipotle while going 70 down the interstate.
