2017 Football schedule

This ^^^^

The loss of King and Johnson are huge, but Iowa only loses one at each level for 2017, as Jewel has already said he is returning. Also, it appears Matt VandeBerg will get a fifth year, but more importantly all five of lineman that started yesterday are back. Oh, and that Wadley guy is back!

I would think Wadley is back, but RBs only have some many carries before they wear down. He is an NFL type back, with great speed and shiftyness. I could see him entering draft early.

I doubt Wadley leaves. He needs to put on about 10 LB before trying to get drafted (which he could I suppose).

How is it possible that VandeBerg gets another year but Pat Scoggins is doubtful to? Makes zero sense.

VandeBerg played as a true freshman and didn't redshirt. Scoggins redshirted.

Scoggins has also missed two full years due to injury.

Then I believe they are actually asking for two different things. VandeBerg would be asking for a Medical Redshirt and Scoggins would be asking for a medical hardship waiver.

VandeBergs case would depend on what percentage of the season he played this year. Scoggins is dependent on losing two full seasons to injury.

Always get a kick out of Cyclone fans projecting wins over K-State particularly at Manhattan. My goodness.

I talked to an A+ source yesterday. Coach Snyder's not going anywhere but to his office for the foreseeable future.

And he returns almost everyone from this year's squad, sans #75 Jordan Willis. If junior linebacker Elijah Lee leaves early, coach will have some holes on the defensive side. But the league's best offensive line returns 5 of 6 starters. The starting backfield returns in tact. And a 5* Cal transfer joins the receiving corps.

Good luck in MHK.

I always get a kick out of opposing fans getting a kick out of Iowa State fans projections on an IOWA STATE site.

Minimum expectation:
W UNI (gawd, I hope so)
L Iowa
W at Akron (gawd, I hope so)
Conf (alpha order)
L at Baylor
W KU
L at K-State
L at Oklahoma
L Oklahoma State
W TCU
L Texas
W at Texas Tech
L at West Virginia
5-7 (3-6)
FWIW, that has been my standard prediction almost every year since about ’09. But I see more swing-games/potential-to-steal W’s within that framework than I typically do (Iowa, BU, Texas, West Virginia). Campbell needs to get to a bowl.

I'm surprised that you see us handling TCU but not Baylor or K-State...

I have one issue with your predictions... you picked us to lose at Kansas State. I get you are facing the "brutal facts" but we only pick Iowa State to beat Kansas State on this site.

I took TCU since it's a home and Baylor is not -- I'm rarely as high on TCU as consensus. BU is 50-50 to me, coaching transition is x-factor.

I haven't given up on Iowa State actually beating KSU one day soon, I just gave up on predicting it to happen.
:)

Looks like some shills from GoEmaw have invaded the site. Kansas State will be very, very good next year and I don't see anyway we leave Manhattan with a win in 2017.

Something strange going on the K-St. forums in that a surprising number of the faithful are expressing disenchantment with Snyder. "He's too old, the game has passed him by" are heard from many more fans than you would expect.

My god, that old man is K-St. football!!! I have to believe that most of those voicing such opinions are so young that they have no idea how pathetic a program they had prior to 1989.

A little off topic for this thread, but FWIW I have heard there is a very good chance that Cotton Moya will not be back next season. But not 100% sure at this point in time.

Perhaps I am thinking of the wrong person, but doesn't he have a child in California? I think he will be eligible for a grad transfer if he wanted one. I couldn't fault him for that for family reasons

My predictions.

W UNI - we will blow them out. We are getting better and they should be worse.

W Iowa - running off the blowout win over UNI. We will play Iowa good and rattle the new Iowa
QB

W at Akron - I'll be there and I have never watched ISU lose on the road in both football and basketball. I got to witness the 3OT game in still water.

W at Baylor - not confident, I'm basing this off a lackluster hire and them losing a lot players.

W KU - Homecoming most likely.

W at K-State - Largest win ever, completely blow them out. KSU players retire after the game because they were embarrassed so badly, Synder turns into a pile of dust. Just for Surly

L at Oklahoma - We lose as is tradition

W Oklahoma State - I think they lose their qb and we seem to be playing them close. Time to knock them down a peg.

W TCU - I just putting win because I like seeing Iowa State win. I have no clue how they will be looking next year but it helps it is at home.

L Texas - I think Herman will get them rolling.

L at Texas Tech - toss up because Tech should be bad next year. I put a L because I heard Patty is coming back but if he leaves I would side over to a W.

L at West Virginia - tough rode game.

8-4, of course I always OD on the Koolaid
