2017 Football schedule

Always get a kick out of Cyclone fans projecting wins over K-State particularly at Manhattan. My goodness.

I talked to an A+ source yesterday. Coach Snyder's not going anywhere but to his office for the foreseeable future.

And he returns almost everyone from this year's squad, sans #75 Jordan Willis. If junior linebacker Elijah Lee leaves early, coach will have some holes on the defensive side. But the league's best offensive line returns 5 of 6 starters. The starting backfield returns in tact. And a 5* Cal transfer joins the receiving corps.

Good luck in MHK.

How in the world did that happen?

When I think of places to shine and really show your stuff as a WR, Manhattan, KS is not a place that I think of immediately...

Yeah, and so do Collin Klein and Jake Waters. You don't have either of them anymore. WR's are only as good as the people throwing to them. You can say we have the same problem here with Lazard: we know he's a great receiver, we have just been lacking a QB that can fully allocate his skills (will Park change that next year? I sure hope so).

I believe Ertz will be a fine throwing quarterback when his shoulder heals. Plus, he's a great leader. But if not, this guy is currently wearing his freshman red-shirt.

The current 9-game streak for KSU is by an average margin of victory of 8 points, and that includes the 34 point beatdown from 2013. Take that out, and the average margin of victory is 5. This game has been close pretty much every year. Even in our worst freaking years of football, KSU struggled in the ISU game.

Stop thinking you're OU. This is one game, no matter how bad ISU is, that is ALWAYS a winable game.

I believe Snyder is 21-4 against ISU. And your OU comment makes for a nice attempt at smack, but it's really a very bad straw man argument.

Have to agree with this. It's frustrating, but we have a long way to go to match what the Old Man has built. You would think people would stop underestimating him after all these years.

Snyder really is the champion of beating teams consistently in unimpressive ways

Its not. You constantly come on here acting like KSU is a power that ISU can not compete with. Honestly, you really give value to what KU fans say about your fanbase.

Well had we had a competent staff in 2015, we would of. Derp.

Always get a kick out of opposing fans (whose programs are historically TERRIBLE), who act and talk like they are a blue blood program. Funny funny.

There really haven't been a lot of people projecting a win over KSU. But go ahead and keep trying to find opportunities to toot your teams horn.

Despite your recent success, the KSU game is still always one of the more winnable games on our schedule. Does that mean we win, not certainly, but we should have a chance to win.

should be announced sometime this week.

2016 schedule was announced November 24th last year and the 2015 schedule on Nov 19 the year before.

Do you think the delay in the announcement may indicate that the Big 12 is trying to move some games around and fill our Sept 16th open week?

We seem to enjoy finding new and creative ways to piss away games... but for some reason we take it up a notch vs Kansas State. Year in and Year out Kansas State is the one game on the schedule Iowa State consistently competes in. Whether Surly wants to admit it or not.

Have never suggested otherwise. ISU sees K-State as a football rival. The games are always competitive, it seems. Even when the Cats had far superior talent, that was often the case. My point remains, however, that anyone projecting an ISU win in MHK next season is simply not facing the brutal facts. This will be a very strong and seasoned K-State outfit. And the game will be played in The Bill.

And that has rarely made a difference.

I think this is part of it. I know there was talk of rescheduling Bedlam so if OU and OSU are 1 and 2 there would not be a rematch the week after in the Big 12 title game.

With the title game back there should only 1 bye week for each team now (second ISU bye is this weekend) so things will need to be done a bit more delicately as far as schedules for Big 12 and working with Non-Con opponents.

And again... as others have said. There is ONE guy who said that and he's got ISU going freaking 9-3. Another one gave ISU a win if Snyder isn't there and lets be honest... its not out of the realm of possibility if Snyder isn't on the sidelines.
