2017 Football schedule

Interesting schedule.

I wish the Akron game would be on a Thursday instead of the UNI game.

No late November home games for us.

No Texas teams play north of Oklahoma in November except for UT playing at WV. Somebody has to be working hard to make that happen.

That would be nice to play that road MAC level game on a Thursday or Friday night.

The Big-12 was pretty down this year and with some new coaches it's hard to project. Iowa, OU, OSU, KSU are probably losses. UNI, Akron, and KU should be wins. That leaves Texas, WVU, TCU, Baylor and TTU.

And for those 15 years it was basically a rivalry in name only - at least as far as Iowa was concerned.

It was a game Hayden Fry loved to use in order to exaggerate Iowa's brand compared to their lowly instate counterpart. It got interesting when Iowa got back to pre-Hayden-like teams and ISU wasn't horrible. Was downright intense when both teams were pseudo-regularly going to bowls at the same time.

A lot can happen with injuries, de-commits or whatever but I'll see less than 6 wins as a disappointment next year since it wasn't all that far out of reach the last two seasons.

Also, will probably get Bill Snyder's last home game. Senior day is tough enough for emotion, but to also have a last game for a coach like Snyder will be a special day in college football.

FIFY. I can only dream of a coach who committing to a place like ISU, along with, from what I know, having a lot of respect for the game and generally winning without reverting to the latest gimmicks or trends.

Doubtful as our TV contract allows for one game to be put on Cyclones.TV, and I would guess JP isnt going to pass on the opportunity to have that game on Cy.TV.

Wonder if the "television" thing they're trying to work out is to get UNI game on Thursday with FS1/ESPNU or something, and see if they can get the KU game on Cyclones.tv.

Farmageddon to end the year: I wonder what WVU and K State fans think of that change?

First, I'm glad Ku was moved to the middle of the schedule when the game could potentially have some meaning. I didn't think they'd do that but glad they did.

As for Farmageddon being the new end game, that's great. This is a natural between non-bordering land grants.

Coach will have his best outfit since Snyder 2.0 commenced. They'll certainly be in a hunt for a league championship which would be a nice send off for his career. OU comes to Manhattan along with WVU, TCU and Baylor. ISU should be in a nice position coming into that game.

I should have written 'neighbors' or 'rivals' or 'non-rivals.' Then people would have maybe spent some time on the point of the two playing at the end for a deere [sic] trophy fully equipped with Ku driver.
