2017 Football schedule

In order to have a rivalry you have to beat teams once in awhile.

We have 1 football rival and that's Iowa (neither side admits it however for whatever idiotic reason). I'd actually say Iowa State has never had another rivalry in the history of the football program. We don't beat any schools who care about football enough.

ISU ended 2014 season vs TCU. WVU ended 2016 season vs Baylor, 2015 vs KSU, & 2012 vs KU
However, 2017 will be the first time ISU does not play WVU on the Saturday after Thanksgiving since WVU joined the Big XII.

Something strange going on the K-St. forums in that a surprising number of the faithful are expressing disenchantment with Snyder. "He's too old, the game has passed him by" are heard from many more fans than you would expect.

My god, that old man is K-St. football!!! I have to believe that most of those voicing such opinions are so young that they have no idea how pathetic a program they had prior to 1989.

Also, will probably get Bill Snyder's last home game. Senior day is tough enough for emotion, but to also have a last game for a coach like Snyder will be a special day in Manhattan.

I wonder what the TV consideration is for UNI-Iowa State. Maybe waiting on the Pac-12 schedule to see if FS1 would pick it up on Thursday night. Probably FSN Midwest more likely.

As someone who wouldn't be going to that game either way, if it's real TV on Thursday or Cyclones.tv on Saturday, then I am praying for Thursday after the snafus we have dealt with time and time again on Cyclones.tv.

We lost to Iowa 15 times in a row, so not sure why wins are needed to make a rivalry

Doubtful as our TV contract allows for one game to be put on Cyclones.TV, and I would guess JP isnt going to pass on the opportunity to have that game on Cy.TV.
 
No reason to not be 5-6 going into the last game of the year. No excuses.

And they're only putting the UNI game on Thursday night if it gets picked up by FS1 or any ESPN channel.
