Golf Learning Question

Looking for some recommendations. Son, living in Johnston and an ISU Grad, has decided to take up golf. Told him my experience was needed some advice and lessons from a good teacher before he developed too many bad habits. Reluctant to teach him and had to give up the game a few years ago (arthritis in shoulders) I am not the one tp do so, but am capable of supplementing some reasonable lessons. I learned the game in Illinois and Ohio, so am not familiar with DM and their golf resources. Any recommendations for good lesson opportunities?

Greetings from Provo to Ames

I took this picture dropping off my son at his BYU dorm after an Easter call to my mom in Ames

Figured it meant I should send greetings to future conference mates and to show off on of the most picturesque towns for a football game.

There probably won’t be quite as much snow when the Cyclones come in November but looking forward to the game.

Your Last Post--Posters of Days Gone By

Every poster will one day post for the last time. Some will know that it is the last post. Others won't. Some questions in another thread made me reflect about posters from years past that no longer seem to be around.

Who is an inactive poster that you either miss (or don't) that you haven't noticed for some time and have wondered about?

The first one mentioned in the other thread was @SpokaneCY.

And, for 200 points and control of the board, what would you want your own last post to say to our community?

POD WITH METCALF

Hey guys!

Fresh pod with Brent metcalf. Ben had some great questions and I got a fun little story out of Metcalf at the end!

Enjoy!

Football Final Conference Ranking

In the vid below these guys have ISU ranked 13th out of 14 teams in the Big12, finishing 3-6 in conference, 5-7 overall.

If you read Big12 news, nobody gives ISU an afterthought. We’re on nobody’s radar, it’s all K-State, TX, OU, TCU. Even Kansas gets more love now, not to mention the new additions.

Where do all of you think ISU will finish and why? Let’s hear those opinions.

What makes some people favor documentaries vs people who favor action movies?

I know some people who will watch documentaries multiple times a week. They want to learn things about new topics and seek new perspective. I also know people who love formulaic superhero movies and won't proactively watch a documentary because they want to escape real life.

What makes a person the former versus the latter? Is it the way they grow up or some chemical composition in their brain?

Alright bacon lovers...I need your tips

What is your tried and true way to making truly CRISPY bacon that doesn't burn? And I know there are different definitions of 'crispy'...so to clarify. I mean literally BREAKS/SNAPS and there is a true crunch to it. Basically cooking it until it's bacos. There should be no tearing of it in terms of what I'm talking about crispiness.

Knowing that...does oven cooking do it? I have never tried but I doubt it gets as crispy as we're looking for. Cast iron is what we use but seems to burn pretty easily but maybe the heat is just too much (even though we only cook on medium).

Let me know your thoughts!

NFL: First round QB picks- past 15 years

Interesting article about the last 15 years of first round quarterback picks in the NFL.

The hit rate is pretty low, which suggests that it's mostly just a crapshoot.
