One of the top villains in cinema history, if you ask me. Louise Fletcher, who won an Oscar playing Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoos News, passed away at 88.

The Canadian National Team has won their first two pool games against Serbia and FraTeam.

Bridget has scored 6 and 5 points but has played more minutes than any other player on the team at about 34 minutes a game. She seems to be the glue that stabilizes the team.

Games are in Australia so time for those of us in Iowa are not great - like 3:00 in the morning! But they are broadcast live on ESPN+

If you are looking for an easy way to get to the KU game or a tailgate at the stadium, the Cyclone Gridiron Club has a bus going down to Lawrence. The bus will leave from West Des Moines around 8:30 am on Saturday and come back after the game...includes the tailgate.

Or if you already have your transportation to the game but looking for a tailgate, join us for that. Tailgate includes burgers, brats and beverages.

It's been a couple years since I've made it for a game. Going with some family tomorrow and wanting to do a little tailgating. Is there any chance of available grass lot parking? Not going to be able to get into Ames until 8 or shortly after. I just now realized these are online presale which ended at noon today.

I am able to make the game, but just going alone. So I am selling other one ...asking $50. It is in section B row 14.

Starting new job Monday and I'm already eligible for healthcare benefits October 1st. Win!

With a wife and son, I need a temp plan for basically a week just in case. In the past I've gotten temp coverage during a job change from Golden Rule. Which was basically non-existent coverage, but coverage I could at least provide proof of nonetheless.

Suggestions?

And total side note, my former company pulls the plug on your coverage at midnight on your last day. I've always been insured through the end of the month with other employers. Is that common for insurance coverage to end like that? I was surprised to learn that.

Clearly white popcorn is better. What do you all think?

There are many albums/movies/books that are considered classics, but sometimes they don't land the first time you listen/see/read them. What classic pieces of pop culture took their time to resonate with you?

I won’t steal his, but here is an example of my own. I started listening to the second-most-recent Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums of All-Time a few years ago (before the new one came out) after inspiration from a buddy doing it. I had never gotten into Husker Du (sorry, my phone doesn’t do the umlauts) when I had listened to them before, but one of their albums, maybe “New Day Rising” was on the list - and I finally got it. And liked it. And listened to more.

Earlier this week I placed an online order with Walmart. (I live on the outskirts of Marion). The order was placed at 7:28 AM and the package arrived at my house at 11:15 AM. Less than 4 hours. Curious what the shortest time is than anyone else has experienced.
