Zeb Noland transferring

Wow.... you sure told me. Yikes. Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning or what?

I said CMC said everything a coach basically has to say in this kind of situation with Zeb. I'm not faulting CMC in any way shape or form. But I'm sure your excellent reading comprehension skills understood that, right?

All I'm saying is that I believe our QB situation without Zeb is a bit shakier than CMC would ever admit, that's all. We have a #1 who takes a ton of big hits, and a #2 coming off injury and hasn't basically played football since last year for the most part. After that it's anyone's guess?
I agree you are wrong.

If Michigan’s starter for half of last year and he’s fourth string now, apparently they don’t really care about how many snaps he’s taken compared to others. So you’re kind of making my point for me. And so what if Moore or Mitchell aren’t our starters of the future or in the position next year? It’s not like Purdy will be the only quarterback on the roster. There will be others. And the number of snaps they’ve previously taken won’t matter, just like Purdy’s number of snaps taken previously didn’t matter and number of snaps Noland took before Kempt going down didn’t matter and number of snaps Kempt took before Park left didn’t matter.

It's not about being the starter. It's about ever playing here. With Mitchell it's about getting him on the field somewhere else if he's one of your better playmakers. Without Zeb we can't really afford to do that. No one said this is the death of the QB room. They said that it owuld be better to have Zeb there than not have him there which is completely true. I'm not sure what your infatuation with trying to prove that wrong is.

I kind sort of understand the people who think he quit on his team but who knows, maybe this decision was made weeks ago and he was being a good teammate by waiting for Kempt to return before leaving.

Having a guy with his experience would have been great for the QB room the next couple of years but that was going to be his biggest contribution, off the field as a leader.Going foward, I think we'll see QB's who are all more of a dual threat coming in to the program. Zeb doesn't fit that mold. For his sake, I hope this is just a business decision and he or his family aren't going through anything rough. I hope he finds a landing spot and finishes his career strong. I'll always root for him.

I think it's disappointing when a player quits mid-season. I've never been in camp Zeb, But I figured if Purdy needed a break, that Zeb would still get in over Kempt. Obviously I was wrong on that.

I can't blame him for leaving now, in his own best interest, but I'm still pretty disappointed.

Unless you aren’t getting a fair chance to win back the starting position by the coaches, why quit in the middle of a promising season?

You could argue the inverse as well. Do you really want someone to be hanging around the team (possibly draining some resources) who doesn't want to be there?

If I wanted out of something like that (not that I've ever been in that situation), I'd much prefer to cut ties and be don with it, rather than hang around and have to fake enthusiasm.

This team is only as good as Brock is. Having KK or Zeb don't elevate us to our current level. Wish him the best in his future
I mostly agree except that I think KK can/will get the job done vs. everyone but UT...and also probably UT. Hmm, that makes it seem like I don't agree...but I do.
