Yes, but not in this case. No one is saying anything bad about Kempt. He was really good today. In my opinion, the team has more upside with Park. He makes throws into tight windows that no one else can, especially in the middle. Kempt definitely looks solid though.Could the receivers have made amazing plays because of the quarterback?
Kempt performance reminded me of Kyle Stanley's against us. He completed a high % of his throws, and didn't make any mistakes. But, they had him execute very simple plays. Almost every play was a screen, a quick dump off in the flat, or a quick throw to Lazard or Butler down field in man coverage to let them make a play. It was pretty much all pre-snap reads where he knew where he was going with the ball before the play even started. They only had him throw to the middle of the field like 2-3 times all game. That tells me the coaches don't trust him to make those throws and future teams will game plan to take away the easy throws to the side lines. The coaches did a great job of calling safe plays that he could execute well. Maybe he can make all the throws, and just didn't get a chance to show it yet. We may find out since I have a feeling Park might be gone for a while.
