What supplements do you take?

I eat pretty healthy but take a multi to help cover what I may have not gotten on that specific day.

Take D3 and up the dose during fall and winter. It helps my psych a lot in the dark months.

Fish oil. I listened to a super informative podcast on this and now pay a little bit more for better fish oils but ensure I'm getting what I need.

With all supplements make sure you're getting a quality brand. Also there is a lot of BS out there so talk with a Dr and make sure you're taking ones you need and not wasting money. Spend the money on getting quality ones you actually need.

Oh and don't use multi vitamins as an excuse to not eat healthy food.

Is there a website that's reliable that can tell a guy what supp's he needs? I thought about starting a thread related to this a while back. I am really glad someone started this.

Prenatal when I remember mostly cause I want to use up what I bought. Vit D, collagen in coffee occasionally. Most vitamins make for expensive pee so I won't add any after Prenatal is gone. Do want to get a full panel done soon to check levels. Kids/pregnancies take toll and can trigger thyroid issues in particular so I want to see if there's anything to address. Will do that before a generic multivitamin.

You are same mentality as my wife but she also takes folic.

If you have a well balanced diet, get outside regularly, and exercise you don’t need any supplements. That being said as someone previously posted supplements like multivitamins or probiotics have almost no detrimental effects so if you want to take it go ahead. Best course of action is next time you get blood work done at your PCP, ask them what they recommend or take your results to an RD.

You end up peeing out 90% of the vitamins but what you do absorb is more than you would have without them. Vitamins can only absorb so fast so the biggest thing is people say it's a waste of money but like I said if you're getting anything out of them it's better than nothing.
Agreed - it also depends on what it is, how deficient you are, etc.

Really for the effort and $ a good multi is well worth it in my opinion.

I take a multi-vitamin and protein powder when running a lot of miles. I eat pretty healthy so I don't think the multi does anything and is probably a waste of money but I guess it doesn't hurt otherwise.

For something that is so obvious very few people in this country do it. Why do you think the supplement market is so large?
