Watch your backs against NU!

I just watched the fast replays of the game. There were several helmet to helmet hits on the Missouri QB that looked intentional. One in the first quarter that was marked as a penalty where the QB was wrapped up and another player came in and speared him. Another where the QB was running and the ball was in his gut where the Nebraska player again went helmet to helmet. Looks like there is a pattern that every chance they had to hit the QB in the head with their helmet, they took it.

Best part about those knuckle draggers leaving for the B10 is never having to deal with them again.

Just stay clear of IC when Nebraska/Iowa play, that self entitlement ego explosion could go nuclear.

My reply was to the guy who said "Everyone else" said the hit was illegal. Well, 7 "Experts" on ESPN said it was legal. That's all I'm saying.

One of the husker message boards has a frame by frame break down of the hit showing Gabberts body level as Osbourne approached. Gabbert definitely lowered his body, but it happened so quickly you can't really tell watching the live feed. Here is the link to the thread. HuskersIllustrated.com - Message Boards

I was at the game and when it happened I kept looking around for a flag. I was surprised they didn't throw one. Then again, the officials did a terrible job that game. A ton of missed calls on both sides.
The frame by frame is in this thread and as people have noted, it is odd that all the frames are not the same size or are lined up. In otherwords....doctored

Everyone on the panel of ESPNU's "The Experts" said that the hit by Osborne on Gabbert was legal and there was nothing dirty about it.

not dirty and not legal. ESPN is full of talking idiots that re very difficult to watch.

Um...the line is lined up the same. Look at it in comparison to the signs in the background.

I like how the sideline is completely flush from frame to frame (which it shouldn't be from that camera angle) in the first couple shots and in the later frames it's all over the place. There is no way that picture isn't completely doctored.

The Nebraska team plays headhunter football, are you really suprised by that? Figured you Nebraska fans would be used to having low moral type guys out there.

Good luck on Saturday. Hope your players watch out for concussions. Nebraska players seem to be going for the knock out blows this season. Either for the knees or the heads. Let's hope the refs watch out for that this time too.

You can't be serious with this nonsense.

A few problems with this doctored image:

1) The effect of him "crouching" could be produced by him moving in any direction.

2) The line drawn in the image of Osbourne coming in "chest level" is drawn from his facemask, and he eventually hits him with the crown of his helmet.

Finally, what is the purpose of suggesting he "ducked"? The rule is meant to guard against helmet to helmet hits, and if Gabbert lowered his head a tiny bit to guard against the hit that means nothing against the rule. Look at at how the "hitee" in these NFL plays protected themselves-- these were both ruled dirty hits:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3FJjqltDmA"]YouTube - James Harrison dirty hit on Josh Cribbs[/ame] Josh Cribs' head was done.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJvKt1vF4GM&feature=related"]YouTube - STEELERS James Harrison hard hit on Browns Mohamed 17 10 2010[/ame] Massquaoi's head was down.

It is ridiculous to suggest that a player should just stand of straight and accept the hit. The point of the rule is that the defender must target the chest. There is a good 2 foot difference between the earhole of a QB's helmet and his chest-- this was in no way Gabbert's fault.

No chance. How tall do you think Gabbert is? That thug targeted his head and got his head, he should have gotten his *** tossed for that.

agree.

Boy, they really need him for this game this week huh? Maybe that is why they are so hot on defending this subject?

F Nebby.
