All 7 of "The Experts" on ESPNU today said the Courtney Osbourne hit on Gabbert was legal.

Virtually everyone on ESPN (as well as I) still think that Dunta Robinson's hit on DeShaun Jackson was legal as well. Guess what - the League hasn't overturned its initial ruling yet...

As an Eagles fan, I thought Robinson's hit was legal. but then again, I am not an official and I can't remember the last time I stayed at a Holliday Inn.

Having watched the video, it looked to me like a clean, hard hit. He came in a bit high because he was going for a strip (which he got) and he wrapped up to make the tackle. A month ago nobody would have given that hit a second glance other than to talk about how awesome it was.

When your team name is as embarrasing as cornhusker, you have to play dirty or no one will stop laughing at you. Although the name cornholio is awesome, they should change it.

Obvious illegal hit. Gabbert did NOT drop his head, he didn't even see the defender until he was right there and didn't have any time to react. The Fusker player was head hunting, it was clear. If he would have tackled properly he probably could have forced a fumble.

He did force the fumble, it was very clear the ball came out at the point of contact. This should have been a touchdown. This game had horrible officials and announcers. This is football!!! People get hit!!!

My reply was to the guy who said "Everyone else" said the hit was illegal. Well, 7 "Experts" on ESPN said it was legal. That's all I'm saying.

One of the husker message boards has a frame by frame break down of the hit showing Gabberts body level as Osbourne approached. Gabbert definitely lowered his body, but it happened so quickly you can't really tell watching the live feed. Here is the link to the thread. HuskersIllustrated.com - Message Boards

I was at the game and when it happened I kept looking around for a flag. I was surprised they didn't throw one. Then again, the officials did a terrible job that game. A ton of missed calls on both sides.

Oh please... watch the damn video. Gabbert starts to duck the hit and Osborne follows the angle he started on. Gabbert ducks into the hit, is 5-6 inches taller than the DB hitting him and still gets facemask to facemask. Osborne doesn't jump UP and Gabbert ducks. He didn't target Gabbert's head, he didn't lead with the crown of his helmet.

If Gabbert stays up he gets hit in the chest.

Go ahead and make villains of the NU team, everyone will do it all year... no surprise.
But maybe try looking without the "I hate the Huskers for leaving the Big 12" glasses... of course that is asking to much for you all but give it a try anyway. I know you wont admit you are wrong.

No chance. How tall do you think Gabbert is? That thug targeted his head and got his head, he should have gotten his *** tossed for that.

Is the OP referring to the team or my own well being in the stands?

while I do know karate......I would like to be prepared for any sudden attack from the field.

Everyone on the panel of ESPNU's "The Experts" said that the hit by Osborne on Gabbert was legal and there was nothing dirty about it.

a. Bad thing about Nebby coming to town ... too many husker fans.
b. Good thing about Nebby coming to town ... all those fans leaving after the second consecutive loss to lowly ISU.

It's only fair.
