Walking Dead

They talked about this on The Talking Dead (I still watch that show too, for some morbid reason) and Norman Reedus talked about that. Seemed like he was happy to have some dialog again, other then grunts and stares. Also, seemed that he was happier with the direction of the show, now that Scott Gimpel was no longer head show runner and they did allude to some of the pacing issues of the past, so hopefully this season is a turn for the better.
They better give him more dialog because they signed him to $20 million contract. By the end of this season he's going to be the main character.

These first two episodes have been ok...better than the drivel we've seen the past couple of years. I feel like things might get forced with Rick because we know he's leaving...maybe I am not being fair though.

We finally watched the season premier Sunday night so we will be a little behind but that's ok, as someone else mentioned this is not really appointment TV anymore.

I have some hope for TWD with a new show runner (Angela Kang, I believe). I ******* HATED Scott M. Gimple.

Last season of FTWD was probably their best. Once Morgan showed up, things started going downhill. This show needed more Madison, Daniel, and Nick. Now Nick and Madison are dead and Daniel is MIA. I could do with less Victor, Luciana has become one dimensional, and Alicia is not the same without her family interaction.

Out of the new characters, Al is probably the best with some potential for some good background story reveals. John and June are okay, but are not adding much more lately other than a love story after a promising start. The wheelchair guy and the other lady are forgettable. The girl who killed Nick still has zero character development and Jimbo's Beerbos guy was thankfully put out of his misery.

God, I miss the Morgan from his short appearances in the old seasons. He used to be a kickass character. As soon as he became a series regular, he is now that annoying moral conflict, story dragging character. And I also agree with the assesment on the dirty homeless lady. Quite possibly the most anticlimactic, unrealistic main villain. They should have just made the group that camped outside the stadium the main rivals for the end of this season.

I couldn't agree more with all your points. FTWD had so much opportunity, yet succumbed to trying to "invent" interesting "comic book" style characters, versus focusing on the realities of survival that were making the original characters more interesting. The show is walking dead now.

Solid episode last night. One more episode left for Rick. Hopefully gets a good death scene, that's what this show is about.

Yeah, hopefully he goes out well, but from the previews looks like it will be a flashback episode of all that Rick has done and he will probably die in a bed in Alexandria. Hopefully the whole episode isn't just about Rick. I know he his a major character and his death should be covered well, but they have been moving and advancing the stories pretty good so far this season. I would hate to see that momentum delayed for a whole hour of Rick is so great, but now he is going to die.

Are you serious? The whole show was based around Rick, he at least deserves an episode farewell if anyone does.

I think an extended attempt at "honoring" him won't do it justice. I thought they butchered Carl's death by drawing it out way too long. I was to the point of "just die already" in that episode. He (both the actor and the character) deserve a Glen-type ending where everyone will remember it.

So... big future spoilers for sunday's episode

Apparently rick won't die in this episode and will be taken into a helicopter by jadis. And then a 5 year time jump.

So they’re basically taking Rick off the show and going to make WD movies with him now instead?
Sounds like they are going to tell more of his story and other stories from around the world.
(This coming from the Talking Dead)
Am I understanding this right?

AMC is squeezing every penny out of TWD and this Rick Grimes movie idea proves that point. So ducking dumb.

Just end this piece of **** show.

I like the time jump, but the Rick stuff is a head scratcher. Wtf, maybe the plan is he will cameo down the line again but doubt it
