why do you think that? Example? im not criticizing i just want to understand why you think that?

Because there will always be division.

Its one thing when one team reaps the rewards for success. Its another thing entirely when teams can further stack the deck in favor of themselves so that that disparity becomes permanent.

Texas bears a lot of responsibility for the failure of 2 conferences. Hell, a lot of the media hate dealing with texas due to their arrogance.

i think i might go buy a Long horn shirt if the big 12 stay together.

Not me, they are still the main cause of all of the issues here and will continue to be. I despise the other schools for just bailing, after years of voting with Texas, but in the end, it is Texas' fault.

I'm starting to think this way as well, with recent developments.

IF Mizzou goes to SEC, and then SEC continues to strike first by raiding ACC to get to 16...

followed by the Tagilabue (sp?) wildcard. If he can orchestrate the Big East jumping to 16 by scooping up the ACC remnants (Catholic BBall only schools leave to be on their own).

Those two things happen, suddenly you've locked up a bunch of the Big Ten's "A-list" expansion candidates. They can't get STL or KC with Mizzou. The Maryland/Duke/UNC rumors are shot. Maybe Boston College is spoken for...who knows, ND, Rutgers...I mean, who would really be out there that would be that slam dunk?

I think now that it's looking more likely that the Big Ten isn't going to knock over the first real big dominos and is more reactionary, ISU may yet get in if things happen in the right order.

Frankly, I'd rather see Iowa State in than most of the ACC schools mentioned anyway.

appreciate it, wish you made the decisions

If you go to football games this year, you will see me holding the cardboard signs about how the world is ending because ISU might not be in a BCS conference soon:arghh::arghh::arghh:

THE WORLD IS ENDING, SAVE YOURSELVES!

(i really hope i dont need the pirate)

That type of revenue stream for one school will make other jealous, especially in Texas. Do you think Baylor and Tech fans want to pay for the Longhorn Network? KU, KSU, MIZZOU and ISU cannot create their own networks, too costly and nobody wants to pick that up. Everyone will be looking for more money, where will you get more money? Another conference with better revenue sharing.

Im on board with you brother. but in this eat or be eaten college football world its what ever goes. if they want there network let them have it, in the long run it benefits us because we get to stay in the big 12

A&M's road just got a little more complicated.....

"The New York Times reported Saturday that an SEC official said there is a 30 to 40 percent chance the SEC presidents will reject Texas A&M as the 13th member of the conference.

The New York Times report said SEC presidents are concerned about the perception of being a conference raider.

A source inside the Big 12 said there could be legal action against the SEC if it appears there is tortious interference on the part of the SEC in helping to break Texas A&M's TV contracts in the Big 12.

A Big 12 source said if the ACC reaffirms its commitment to each other, and the SEC doesn't have a 14th school to invite, the SEC presidents could balk at bringing in Texas A&M.

The Big 12 athletic directors - minus Texas A&M - are scheduled to be on a conference call at 3 p.m. CT Saturday.

They will discuss Texas A&M's situation and what a 9-team Big 12 would look like and what the league should do next - if anything - in terms of possibly adding one or more schools if A&M moves on.

Before last summer's realignment, the short list of schools to add to the Big 12 if a school ever left included BYU and Air Force, according to high-ranking sources in the league.

Houston has been mentioned as a possible candidate, but two Big 12 officials told Orangebloods.com on Saturday that Houston is not high on the list of replacements.

The Houston Chronicle reported Friday that Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe told an unnamed A&M official that Texas was the key to the Big 12 and that the league would survive without Texas A&M.

Big 12 associate commissioner Bob Burda told Orangebloods.com Saturday, "That's patently untrue misinformation from an unnamed source."

Here are the scenarios I see for ISU:

Super Best: Big 10 invite...
Best: stay in Big 12 that goes back up to 10 or 12 teams if Texas A&M leaves
Middle: stay in 9 team Big 12
Kind of bad: end up in Big East
Worst: ... non BCS somewhere

Hell, texas couldnt even do it it appears, even with the massive muscle of ESPN behind them they have no carriers.

ESPN has way too much power in the sports world, and the only thing worse than that is one of the, if not the most, powerful athletic departments going into business alone with that power in the media world. ESPN paid way more than the contract was worth hoping they could sneak in more things than the rest of the conference agreed to, and even then probably still overpaid. Theyre paying for more than just the games here.

Can we set some ground rules here? First ND is not joining the B12 and ISU is not going to the B1G. After that anything goes.

OK so I've read where Florida doesn't want Florida State. Oklahoma won't go anywhere without Oklahoma State. Missouri apparently holds the key to wether the Big 12 stays or is gone. Clemson, Va. Tech have both said they haven't been contacted by the SEC. Louisville said it hasn't been contacted by the Big 12. What else have I missed

If admission into the Big Ten were based on academics, travel costs, geography, built-in rivalries, all sports besides football, and common sense we would be a shoe-in.

Go Cyclones!!!
