Fran Fraschilla @franfraschilla · do you put a lot of stock into deion sanders pass break up stats?
Obviously this is true, but I get where he's coming from. There were a lot of times were ISU needed something to happen and Kane would just bull his way to either a bucket or free throws.
Sounds like it will be the ballz to the rack and Hogue will be cleaning up the misses.
You can't guard this.
He calls McKay a legitimate rim protector, and then compares him to DeMarre Carroll, who had a career Block percentage of less than 2.0%. Georges Niang and Marcus Smart - neither of whom are anything close to a rim protector - both had a higher block rate last year than Carroll's career rate.
That's just a dumb and lazy comparison. He wrote down the first tall black guy with dreadlocks he could think of.
I'll give him some time. It took Scotty some time to become Thuglife. Matt is still just a true sophomore...give him time.

And it would make me so happy if we saw a little Thug Life in Matt this season.
There is more to rim protection than blocks.
Love Rothstein. He is very pro ISU and to Hoiberg. Great exposure for the team.
I agree, our high school coach always said that a block is one of the more selfish plays/stats to look at. If you've got a guy that is only trying to block shots then he is most likely not playing that great of defense overall. There is more to rim protection than blocks.

The next time that Fred goes in back to back seasons without changing the offense will be the first time. Fred doesn't have a system in which he fits players, he builds a system that fits the players he has.

Agreed. It's also not the first time I've seen that comparison. If you want to go with tall black guy with dreadlocks, Kenneth Faried is a much better comparison.
I've never seen the Abdel Nader - Nicholas Batum comp before. That's quite interesting, I'm not sure what to make of that. I have absolutely no clue what to expect from Nader this year, or how he fits into the team. Its' the biggest mystery for me.
i feel a koolaid overdose coming on. I think I need to lie down.
DO NOT lie down in that condition because bed spins.
For Wisconsin?i am a little nervous about the lack of a palpable buzz.
