You must have been one of those ripping on us and calling us SDW haters among other names just because we didn't think he was going to play much at ISU. Stay classy my friend.
What he said wasn't nice, but I think people have had enough of the "I told you so" posts in general.
Fair enough, though I think I've only seen a couple on here. Mine was more in response to the fact that some people literally get attacked if they have a different opinion on a player or coach than someone else, and it gets pretty ridiculous with the namecalling. I've always said SDW seems to be a great kid and has been a good member of the team, and I wish him the best.
Interesting how that class worked out...
SDW
Okoro
Niang
Long
Two complete busts and two MASSIVE hits.
That's all you need, I guess...

Agreed. SDW would have gotten decent playing time on any ISU roster prior to 2012. We are so stacked this year that we unfortunately had to let a great player go. I'm not happy about it because I thought SDW was a good guy and great player but that's the way college basketball works.Really? Care to recant this statement? Okoro transferred early to be nearer his family after his father and brother died. No way he is a "complete bust".

SDW is a good player who got placed behind other older more experienced transfers. He decided to transfer to another school so he could actually play. I don't call that a "bust".

I don't remember exactly what you posted, but I do know that some were not very nice in their criticism of SDW before. A lot of time people aren't very nice to posters who are asshats to players because they aren't the best talent on the team. Sometimes those posters are ridiculously bad to even our best players. And, yes, sometimes people overreact simply because someone is a little critical of a player. I definitely recall some crossed the line with SDW.
Agree. I originally posted about SDW in reaction to some of the posts that I thought were too optimistic about his abilities after his big day in the cap city league. I had seen him play a few times and said I thought he had some offensive skills, but he wasn't strong and quick enough, especially on defense, to play in the Big 12, at least not yet. That mild statement alone got me raked pretty hard by some. I've never said anything personal about SDW other than that he seemed like a good kid and teammate. I agree making personal attacks on players is out of bounds, and coaches too. Having an opinion on the things they do or the ability they show is obviously a big part of what message boards are about, and at least most posters show respect for each other while they're doing it. Of course there are always a few trolls who you can tell are trying to stir up trouble.
Strikeouts, missed opportunity, talent un-realized, players that didn't contribute, etc.?
Anyway, I don't think there needs to be an argument about the semantics two players that are no longer with ISU and didn't meaningfully contribute on the floor while they were here. I wish them both the best, but I don't think Sigmapolis' point was that terrible, simply making the observation that Fred hit on two and missed on two.
