Same ol' Arnaud

This thread wasnt about AA losing it for us. It is about how everyone thought AA was god after the last game, only to be brought back down to earth this game.

He's a 3rd year started. hitting 5 yards hitches, slants and 10 yard out routes is a must!

This. A senior QB should NOT be missing 5-10 throws per game that a freshman QB would make.

It's obviously not his fault we lost but to have a chance to win, we need our QB to make basic and simple throws. When he does that, we win (see Tech). When he doesn't we lose (see K-State).

I have yet to see any improvement from arnaud in the 4 years he has been here! bring on jared barnett! from garland texas! im not convinced tiller is that great either! even though he has seen limited action!

I said a couple weeks ago play for the future, put some one in and get the experience, the schedule only gets worse

When you let someone hang 68 on you......that would seem to be a total team effort. However with that said and knowing AA isn't at full speed due to injury one must ask......if a 70% healthy AA is better than a 100% healthy backup.....what does that suggest about the future of our team?

That is a ******** theory. The offense and defense and special teams operate completely independant of one another. Essentially, there were two special teams touchdowns that have nothing to do with Arnaud. Not only that, but they also give gave the defense a longer break and they still allowed scores right after each of them. You cannot put the points on Arnaud that is ********, especially when the line was terrible and our running game was mostly ineffective. Arnaud is not that good but he is certainly not the only concern on this team nor he is he the biggest problem. I know that the few of us stating actual fact will make no difference. Those of you that continue to be uninformed or ignorant in terms of how football games actually work will continue to single out the most identifiable player on the team and blame him for the majority of the whoas with this team tonight. It's ridiculous and quite frankly our fanbase is pathetic. I think the majority of this board probably do contribute in some way or form, so nothing against them but I think the majority of Cyclone fans say they are fans just so they can *****. It also seems a lot on here just are on here to tell their "whoa is me stories" and talk about how terrible we are and how terrible some of our players are. I can go to a Michigan board or Alabama board and not find this much ******** there and those teams were actually undefeated.

That is incorrect. The offense absolutely needs to give the defense time to rest every now and then.

In all hoensty, over the years Utah's d has made a lot of QB's look bad once Utah gets up by a couple of scores. Actually I thought AA did OK. I think Utah's coverage was very good on the WR.

No, the reality is that our Oline is not good and our recievers are not good. Guess what, though, the QB gets the ball every single snap so no matter who ****s up, ball watchers everywhere will blame him while they themselves continue to call for an injured back who, in three games has throw up what, 30 points, two of these teams were terrible defenses and one of those was a AA team. Not only were they a AA team, they were a terrible defense in AA. If you cannot see that reality you can then be classified as ignorant. Nowhere did I ever say Arnaud was a world beating QB. I think he could be good if he had a competent Oline and better than bad receivers. Of course, not everyone will see that because most are busy watching the ball.
AA has peaked. He studied the offenses in the off season, but he is not an on the spot thrower. He is a runner. Hitting open people over the middle would be a sign he could make a better qb. He has almost run out of time. Bret Meyer was more accurate.

This thread is epically dumb. ISU is losing to number 10, not to UNI. Get a friggen grip.
The fact that people put so much emphasis on, "its Ok to get beat by 40+ points at home, they were ranked 10th...." is really pathetic....Those rankings are given out by media and coaches, which have frankly been proven to be a bad judgment of a team in recent history....

smh @ this thread. I'm no Arnaud fan boy but his play last night was the least of our worries.

Arnaud is our best option right now hands down. Tiller has not shown me enough when hes been in and I'v also heard that hes hurt at the moment. Capello looks good but in this situation for this year I want the experience in at qb rather than throwing a true freshman in and hoping he does good when he hasn't proven a thing. Arnaud has won games for us and I finally thought this topic would die. Arnaud has no control over the defense and everything is not his fault. Arnaud is our best option.

I'm not going to put it all on him, because that was a complete team failure. But the stuff that is in his control, like his accuracy and decisions and such, come off very poorly.

Two different arguments here.

One can say it's Arnaud's fault without saying there is a better alternative.

I guess using that logic, everyone who blames the DLine needs to provide alternatives?

That's obviously an important problem. Austen is pretty bad, but nobody else is better right now, or healthy enough, or comfortable enough.:shocked::swoon:

I agree it's a problem, I'm just saying the lack of a better option at a position doesn't make a player above blame.
