Rhoads and Recruiting

How many of those teams are getting great talent within the state?

You mean, solely from instate? IU got most of their top talent last year from instate, but still landed talent from elsewhere as well:
Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2013 Indiana Commitments

Northwestern is apparently winning with that two and three star talent everyone complains about (from all over):

Vanderbilt recruited from all over:

Mississippi did well instate, but lots of their top guys were from out of state:

So,instate talent helps, but clearly it's important to recruit nationally.

I don't get the whole "it's year 5 for Rhoads" complaint.

As someone mentioned earlier in this thread - it's year 87 for Snyder @ K-State & they're fresh off an 11 win season & a trip to the Fiesta Bowl; yet they lost to NDSU to open the season.

And as CW mentioned on the podcast yesterday - Look at Iowa: won 11 games in 2009, including a BSC bowl win, & then went out and won 4 games last year in year 14 of Ferentz.

You just answered your own question. Where was our 11 win season??
