RELAX

I've never seen so much quit in a fanbase. I mean good ******* lord you have a team that has more thrilling wins in the last two years than done teams have in their history, and y'all acting like they blow.

I would microwave kittens for Iowa to do what the clones have done.

Man, you can't let all the talk on here about Hawk fans being bad get to you like that.

Too many fans want players to be as bothered and freaked out by a loss that fans are and seem to expect them to deliver a Tim Tebow "we won't lose again" speech after a loss. It's too long a season for players to lose their focus and composure for that.

Except it's now been shortened to the conference season and this is a group that said they wanted the crown. The fan base built up their hopes to match what the players have said for a couple years now. I don't think you'd see nearly as much disappointment if we were walking away from games feeling like the team left their best 40 minutes on the floor. The problem lies in the same types of defeats, followed by the same canned responses about it being a wake up call blah blah blah. I agree that the fans will generally take the losses harder than the team, but at this point it doesn't seem like that takes very much.

I don't think Kenpom ever had us at 20-11 and 9-9 last year at any point. I thought CyTwins and Gunnerclone were the same two that told us the Naz injury wouldn't change the expectations of this team. 3 games into this conference season and we have a less than 1 percent (0.8% via Teamrankings.com) chance to win the Big 12 regular season title.

link? But anyways I can see myself saying that. This team will be judged on what they do in the NCAA tournament just like last year and that's more about the match ups than anything else.

It's the same team as the last few years. We can beat anyone on any given day or lose to almost anyone any given day

That is every team, and certainly every team outside of the top 5. Actually scratch that UVA just lost 2 in a row. Just convinced more and more that it's a case of not really having been here before for most of the fanbase. It's sad that we can't handle success when we finally get it.

Yep, many here think we have UK or KU type talent advantages with this "name on jersey" narrative the past couple years. They take our best effort (likely against another team's non-best) and say that is what we are, then expect that 90+% performance 100% of the time. If short of that we question heart/effort/etc when in reality we consistently out-play teams as well as anyone. The difference is top teams can play below their best and still win whereas we become very average.

Teams lose, particularly ones with our thin margin for error.

Relax.........exactly. Feel like I'm reading a bunch of "fair weather" posts the last few days. Lose a game and some people ready to write off the whole season. These boys are just going to have to decide when and how they are going to win. Until then it's outa my hands. All I can do is give the best support possible. I'll love my Cyclones no matter what.

There are two types of fans here. The ones that are concerned were expecting the team to compete for a regular season league title/final 4. If you have these level expectations, (like I did) you are going to be concerned, as there are some red and yellow flags. If you have the expectation of finishing 2-4 in the B12, and a making a run in the dance to say, sweet 16, then indeed, relax.

I know the term "depth" is like a curse word around here, but it is a valid issue. This team is getting tired at the end of games (Oklahoma, Baylor). The other one is they don't seem to have that killer instinct, but again.... There's that pesky word again, "depth," as when they get up, they do relax to conserve energy. A 7 man rotation can and does work, but those 7 players better be having a pretty even split of minutes. That's not the case here.

Expectations need to change. When Naz went down, ISU went to 7 Big12 caliber players. Like Herb says, Cooke and Burton need to be playing closer to 20 min / game to allow MM, McKat, Georges to have the energy to close out a game.

ISU will be a tourney team, just not a top seed and not a "favorite" to make it to Houston. However, I don't mind this team showing up as a 6 seed and "flying" under the radar. If they can get things to click, they may be one of the most dangerous teams to face.

I think we just need to realize that ISU is not going to win the conference and may finish around 5th.

Last year Murray State had 9 players who averaged at least 10 minutes per game. Having only a 7 man rotation is something that Prohm is still working through.
