RELAX

Got to agree with the poster from early. This team doesn't play with a sense of urgency. Should be full speed all the time. Also was annoyed by us letting them score easily once they entered the lane to help keep us out of foul trouble. Can't win games giving them 10 to 15 gimme lay-ups without contesting some. As far as being relaxed, meh, same old crap different day.

I dont recall them running triangle and 2 for an extended period of time like they did yesterday.....they may have and just don't recall.

I don't recall that either but they still made adjustments down the stretch to win the game that we couldn't/didn't counter. Both games included Baylor executing their offense at an absolutely elite level in the closing minutes and us doing nothing to derail it. The players and circumstances weren't exactly the same but the way they went, ie ISU ******* away a game they controlled for 30+ minutes was eerily similar.

I've never seen so much quit in a fanbase. I mean good ******* lord you have a team that has more thrilling wins in the last two years than done teams have in their history, and y'all acting like they blow.

I would microwave kittens for Iowa to do what the clones have done.

Weren't watching the Rose Bowl, eh?

Well then you should have listened to the postgame interviews. It was stated by Monte that last year after Baylor took their last timeout they played triangle and 2 (playing man on Monte and Georges) and this year they did it again (playing man on Matt T. and Georges). Baylor used the same strategy as last year and like Monte said it took them to long to figure it out.

It will be interesting to see how they respond to adversity. I think it will refocus them.

I keep waiting for that to happen but then I read their post game comments: "It is what it is" (gawd I hate that phrase)
or "They made some shots" "They played harder'
At some point these guys should get tired of hearing how much talent they have and come out for the opening tip like they have something to prove because they do unless they're content with being the fourth or even fifth team in their conference. If/when Georges gets into his groove against any other team you know they will just stick a guy on him nose to nose to face guard him all over the floor and the other four guys will soil their shorts like hox and be unable to do anything on their own. CSP is supposed to be a coach and not a chaperon so maybe he needs to start the five guys who act like they want it the most. Even if it costs us a game lets find the best mix of five guys that want to come out and step on the throats of the other team.

I heard it in the post game too, daily article mentions it too:

"All week, the Cyclones prepared for the Bears' triangle-and-two defense, which features three players playing zone and two players playing man-to-man defense.

The last time Baylor came to Hilton Coliseum, it implemented the defense in the last few minutes of the game. This time around, the Bears did the same thing."

Too many fans want players to be as bothered and freaked out by a loss that fans are and seem to expect them to deliver a Tim Tebow "we won't lose again" speech after a loss. It's too long a season for players to lose their focus and composure for that.

First smart thing I've read from Tuco.

A triangle and two is incredibly easy to score on if you know what u are doing. Bet when you are playing a two man game like we were it's not easy. I'm disappointed that Prohm and staff didn't scout last years games to see its how we lost and recognized it this year and put in a plan around it.

In the ball screens. We over play the ball handler too much. McKay would help out and be right next to Monte while McKay player would be open for a 12 foot jumper. Two things...you have to get over screen and fast and two the helper just needs to step out and then back up to his man. This is OU biggest weakness on D...by far. Keep in mind too it's also how we score a lot too...especially with Niang.

Lastly...Niang is unstoppable in the paint..we need to feed him the ball until it's stopped or double teamed.

Lol, see post #53.

Everyone needs to relax. This team has its ups and downs. They lost 3 in a row last year and still finished 2nd and won the big 12 tourney. Relax

I wish people would quit using & over using what Aaron Rodgers said after week 3 of 2014! Let it R.I.P.
