RECRUITING: New Isaiah Stokes information

We were a nightmare matchup for Purdue.

I disagree. Find a big front court that we had success with last year? Teams that played physical inside gave us fits. The only one that comes to mind is KU and that's mostly because Niang owned Ellis. I'm not saying we couldn't have beat Purdue but we would have really struggled on the glass against them.

There's been no indication that Stokes will sign today. Come back in April.

How many teams did we play that were that physical inside? West Virginia and maybe Baylor? Both those teams had WAY better guards than Purdue. I thought we struggled with mobile, athletic big men more than we did with big lumbering seven footers like Purdue had.

Us playing Purdue would have been like us playing Notre Dame a few years back.

We dodged a huge bullet last year when Little Rocked knocked off Purdue. They would have been a really bad match up for us.

People forget there is an inverse to this. You can scheme around guarding bigs. It's much harder to scheme when you have bigs on quick, talented offensive players.

Yes, and went a combined 0-4 against them. We were a tough matchup for Purdue, but they were a nightmare matchup for us. We may not have gotten a rebound. I remember cringing when the brackets came out, thinking it was a terrible matchup for us, given how we played down the stretch.

You deleted the part about those teams having good guard play too. Purdue wasn't close to that level of guards last year.
