Idk, that is what I am trying to figure out haha. Halsted tweeted that 15 minutes ago, so I was hoping it was new.
It's new.

Halsted does god's work, and I think it's free thru January. Do yourself a favor and sign up. If that was an ESPN insider article or something I would share the info. But Halstead is awesome and deserves the clicks.
Nope. Just respect the work he puts in. Without him the recruiting scene is pretty barren for Iowa State football. Are you Halsted?
Anyone with VIP want to give some insight?![]()
Idk. I'm just putting together what people are assuming. We've assumed before and it's left us mangled and sad.
Yeah, that is the only concern for me going forward, I think he is a diamond in the rough who didn't get too much pub on the recruiting trail because of his perceived future in football. But now that he is a top-100, unsigned big man, if top schools swing and miss on their guys in the late period, there could be some that come sniffing around for Isaiah. I hope I'm wrong, but that is my main concern with him not signing in the early period. So we will get some feel then tomorrow given the early signing deadline. I continue to hope that I.S. will commit vs. slow playing us for a better/elite offer (sorry forks we're not UNC yet).

Signing a NLI essentially binds you to that school, the only way you can get release is if you forgo a year of eligibility (essentially transferring). So, the 3 players that signed with us this past week, are now officially signed with Iowa State. The difference between a commitment and a signed recruit is that a verbal commitment holds no weight. A person can verbally commit and de-commit as many times as they would like, without any penalty to their eligibility. So if you get a player to sign their NLI it is the ink drying on their commitment. People want Stokes to sign because it means we will have 4 recruits coming for sure, and we can focus more time on our transfer/JuCo recruits. Stokes could very well verbally commit on Thursday, but it won't be nearly as important as a commtment and signing of the NLI on Wednesday, because we would have to wait until the Spring to get him to officially sign.Guess I don't fully understand the signing deadline purpose. Can't players commit any time? And can't newly recruited players that signed this past week still decommit anyway like a few of our football guys have?

If tomorrow is the deadline and he hasn't committed yet then I don't think he is sold on ISU being the right place for him. Sounds like he is waiting for a "better" offer. Of course I hope I am way wrong.

I think what may help drag this out is the fact that we're high on him and we have so many spots to fill. He knows that his offer to play here is going to remain open. If we only had one spot left, it could very well speed up the process. Just my thought.

I agree but think the only way around it is to say, "you're our man if you sign now, if not we are also forced to look for others including Transfers".
