RECRUITING: Morrow to Marquette

I'm not stirring the pot. But you apparently don't want to stand by your words. You were the one posting on here multiple times this season that some players family had told you he was not a good coach.

That's so bull....yes, one player's family was disappointed about not getting some shots in the offense early on (which got much better) and the decision to take Ernst's scholarship away. NO WHERE, I repeat...NO WHERE did I say that they said he was not a good coach. Nor did I. Just stop the exaggeration. Speaking of agendas. You're the one that apparently has one when often criticizing by character attacking anyone's discussion. Its a message board for crying out loud. Peace, clone fan!!!!

I say win this year. Get Beverly and Hans Base if healthy and bank one. These schollys will open up again for next near. I'm really not worried at all for 2018 since Shayok committed.

P.S. We have another entire recruiting season before 2018. This recruiting cycle may not have gone the way we wanted but one of my bigger disappointments is we didn't reach out to Jacobson from the beginning. He's not only got talent but he's from Iowa and WANTED to play for Iowa State. I guess it's best to just leave it up to Prohm to design the team he wants. Probably a lot more going on behind the scenes than we all know.

Wow, this is not good, 2 straight years of completely striking out on transfers. Not a good look for Prohm going forward.

I remember just a couple weeks ago people had lists of which 4 we were getting and now none of them want anything to do with us. Kind of funny actually.

Last year the staff had 4 transfers visit and 3 commit. Bowie was solid. Holden had his moments and Kasongo TBD. Wouldn't say they struck out.

I think the staff thought they were in good shape with Morrow but what do I know

If that's true, then that makes it even more frustrating, especially for our staff. We think we're in good shape yet they commit elsewhere. No way we'll ever know what variables is causing them to lean another way, other than a recruit's 'feel', I guess.

I am so boggled by Morrows choice. How is this possible? We are talking Marquette over Iowa State. There's no comparison.

I just don't get Milwaukee over Ames.

It was closer to his home and they are a great program (although I don't like Wojo).

I would, Bowie was a decent bench guy. Holden was worthless and Kasongo is TBD.

When you go from guys like Burton, Nader, Kane, to transfers like Beverly and Bowie things are going downhill fast for Prohm in that regard. His high school recruiting appears to be solid, but kind of our gig is blending top transfers with high school kids. That's not happening anymore.

Kansas will have 6 transfers on their roster this fall. The transfer market has changed so much from when ISU landed the guys you mentioned. I believe ISU can and will land high talent transfers in the future but it's never going to be like it was when Fred did it. Shoot, I'm pretty sure ISU was the only school Kane even visited.

We can all understand losing Egor and Brown. The feeling was they led for Morrow, Edwards and Juiston, which is a little scary. These coaches don't seem to have a great read on the kids.

Juiston and Edwards had handlers that emerged late, but you would prefer to do a better job of flushing that out before hand in the future.

Or maybe they didn't and that is why Brase is visiting.

Yeah this is my thinking, yesterday we were listed as a team involved and then this morning CW reported that a visit got lined up. I think Morrow told them today he was going to marquette, thus their urgency to set up a visit with Brase.

I agree that things have changed, but you have to keep up with the competition or become irrelevant.

If you're going to miss on most of your transfers, then we need to capitalize by getting some really good HS players in this class.

If Kansas, Oregon, Marquette, etc are loading up on transfers, that should leave HS kids open that normally would play up a level.
