RECRUITING: Morrow to Marquette

Shayok was a great get. Bevery was a plan B or C but at this point I am glad we have him.
I agree they wanted Justin over Beverly. I never like using the terms "A", "B" etc. Hell, Juiston wasn't even plan "A", that was Feazell or Stokes. If a guy can help I don't care if they were the first option. I could argue that we NEVER get our first option. If we did, our recruiting class would look like Kentucky's. Even Wigginton in wasn't the first option for a PG. They wanted Colin Sexton but knew they didn't have a chance of getting him early on so they went after Wigginton instead. Should, I be upset that we had to settle for him? No, because he's a hell of a player. Now if a recruit looks like garbage I'll be dissapointed, but Shayock should be really good for us, and Beverly will be solid.

Completely agree - when we don't have high yields on our farm we recognize that, assess where we fell short, and try to correct it going forward. We should be able to do that here too, if you want to use that analogy. People here don't even want to recognize the fact that we didn't have a great transfer season.

Yes but, it's not like he's not trying to get the guys. We either showed interest in, scheduled a visit, or got a visit with the Lawson brothers, Cam Johnson, Egor, Juiston, Brown, and others I'm forgetting. Those are the very best of the best transfers available. I'm most impressed with his ability to recognize we need a wing type scorer, and we were a finalist for probably the two best, Egor and Brown.

I can't remember every name, but is there one out there that Prohm should have been contacting, and at least trying to get?

I understand recruiting ultimately comes down to results, and sometimes you get them, and sometimes you don't. Much like farming, you know you can have the right population, nitrogen, and weed control, but if you don't get that timely rain and warm weather, you're not going to have the best possible yield.

I completely agree that Prohm is doing the right things and that he won't always be successful. That's not the point. The point is that we weren't very successful in the transfer market this year. End of story.

Not questioning his methods, not questioning him as a recruiter, not questioning him as our coach - he is 100% THE GUY for us. I can take off the cardinal and gold glasses though, and identify a lack of results this off-season in the transfer market, unlike many on this board.
