I would be very, very surprised if anyone other than Tsalbo leaves. Does the next coach have work to do for 16-17? Absolutely, but no different no matter who the coach is. Let's be honest here...the 15-16 team (Morris, Niang, McKay, Naz, Matt, Nader, Cooke, Burton, Noskowiak) will be able to coach themselves and win a lot of games. That group of guys is just too smart not to. I mean, there are probably 2-3 future coaches (at least) on that roster already.
For 16-17, we will still have (most likely, and I'm going worst case scenario):
- Matt: Senior shooter, above average rebounder and improving defender
- Cooke: RS JR combo. Granted, we don't know how he will bounce back, but I think he will be fine
- Burton: RS JR slasher/bruiser
- Babb: RS SO slasher
- Noskowiak: SO PG who will have a full year learning from one of the best in the country under his belt
That's a damn good core (should be). Where is the size, you ask? We have brought in all (I think) of our bigs over the last 5 years, save Georges, via transfer. I would not expect that to change right away, considering the guy who I believe will be the next HC hatched the idea of targeting transfers in the first place. Not to mention who he may add to the staff.
Take a deep breath.
