Recruit Lists v2.0

@TravisHines21: Iowa State target Cassius Winston ('16, MI) sitting the Minneapolis EYBL stop out with a cast on his hand.

@TravisHines21: Amir Coffey ('16, MN) says he hopes to be cleared to play next month after ACL tear, but doesn't expect to play grassroots ball this summer.

@TravisHines21: Coffey also said he had an official visit to Baylor set up for next month but cancelled it because he wants to make visits in season.

It's gotta be good for ISU if he makes his visits in season. Baylor can't come close to Hilton's atmosphere.

Coffey is probably off the table if Free leaves.

Even if he stays I would be shocked if he pledged to ISU with the NBA stuff surrounding Fred.

Which is why it is senseless to worry about a hit to recruiting if Fred and his NBA rep leave. Yes, it has garnered us attention from many great recruits. But is has not landed us those bluechip, premium recruits, and it probably never will unless he is willing to commit long-term to ISU, at least publicly.

I've heard that after Monte/Thomas, Fred has been much less committal on him staying here throughout their career (to recruits).

For the players that don't fall into the one and done category that is a big problem.

And for the one and done types, we're certainly not equipped to win many of those battles for other reasons.

I think this is part the reason for our poor HS recruiting results under Fred recently.

It may also be part of the reason that we've been forced to go with almost 100% transfers lately.

At this point our best shot at blue chippers is if they come out of Iowa or Wisky......

Most recruits in today's game commit to coaches first and the school comes in a distant second.

Game atmosphere is icing on the cake at best.
