That's the norm. We ended up doing 2 legs in a row, which forced my team to miss all the provided meals and snacks, so we lived by grazing snacks like bananas and granola bars, but failed at taking in protein.

Need to maintain a 10 minute mile pace across the state to finish. The people on my side of the team were much slower but insisted on running more early than they could handle. They all got hurt, kept trying to plug along, so the rest of us had to skip some runs and drive ahead to make the finish on time.

So, 10 minute miles get you there.
You, me, and cowgirl could get a CF team started.....

Could recruit my niece as an friend of alumni gal. Best gal marathon runner I know. I don't think I could carry my 30 miles share in three days even if broken into 1 or 2 mile segments. Too old, I am more cut out for support team these days.

On that, one team member volunteered their family RV. Turned out that she didn't know anything about operating it, didn't maintain it, and couldn't drive it.

My Army buddy used to own one and helped make it mostly operational. He and I think this would be amazing with a support person that handled an RV and maybe set up some post-leg eating like sandwiches, grilling, or something.......

Well, if you ever do get an RT group together, that sounds like EXACTLY the kind of help PapaLew & I could provide. And if there's water hookup, even a bath/shower. :)

Awesome!
Of course, you'd need to have the RV, but we'd compensate for all the gas, and usage however you wanted.

Someone mentioned making a CF group once. Maybe I should bump that thread again?

We have one. It's an older Winnie - Chief or Chieftain, can't remember which. Has a working generator for A/C. We need to replace the fridge though, it gave up the ghost.

How often do these runs happen? Just annually? We still work for a living for a couple more years, so it would involve vacation time. Not an issue for me, but for him it's a different topic. He doesn't get as much as I do.

These guys didn't maintain it, but we got the generator working for A/C. We didn't have it for driving, so that made for some nice and warm trips all over the route.

We've got to keep this idea in mind.

Annually in June.
Someone in our group complained about being in June, but most of the facilities the Relay uses in small communities are schools. I can't see any school letting 500 runners rampage through their restrooms and showers with school in session (nor would I really think that's a good idea).

Life in a Northern Town, totally stuck in my head.

Thanks to @Angie and that video music thread!

Sorry, man! :P If it makes you feel better, I had a song that came into my mind that was perfect for it at, like, 3 am on Friday night/Saturday morning, then forgot it by the time I woke up in the morning. So it also infected me!

I'm absolutely intrigued by this idea. We've worked with "Bike Builders" through our church in the past, feeding them on this leg of their ride. I've never done road crew for a Ragbrai rider (or group of riders), but that is on such a huge scale it seems like it would be less enjoyable.

Doubt he lives in the Twin Cities. Most of the old cranky "the society and young ones are ruining the world" and "drugs too" and "them immigrants" guys live outstate.
