I watched our defense shut Grier down and I expect similar results for Bowman
TT has a better running game and better Defense. I expect a close game.
Statistically Tech is better right now. They haven't really played many tough teams yet however. I feel like we should wipe them off the floor but I'm getting cold feet as the week goes on.
What statistics? I know Blum said WVU was a top 20 defense going into our game based off efficiency numbers
Before we played them (and Tech played a miserable KU at home) WVU was significantly better.
I am actually mildly surprised to discover pretty much the opposite. Considering the game is in Ames, I’ll be surprised if ISU doesn’t shut down Bowman and the TT offense.

That’s not mutually exclusive with Grier playing erratically. You watched our defense shut down Grier looking for big plays. I don’t foresee Tech being as impatient, so it’s likely they’ll score significantly more than the 7 points the defense gave up against WVU.
If it’s all just our defense and Bowman is a step down from what Grier was in our game, you’ll have no problem betting that our defense holds TT to under 7 points and 150 yards. What should we wager?
I'm not predicting a defensive performance from us like we saw last time out. That was the best defensive performance I've seen in person. I will stand by that if you think Bowman is better than Grier you're crazy
Tech is going to get yards but we will minimize their scoring. We will run a lot t if disguised blitzes and coverage schemes and Bowman will get frustrated. Calling my shot but we pick Bowman off at least twice.
Best scoring defense in conference. I don't remember the rest but their d looks good on paper. Williams had an article on it.
So outside of your desire to use a straw man, you’ve got nothing.
That doesn’t refute the contention that Bowman is playing as well as an erratic Grier (for example, their ratings are comparable in their recent matchups against KU) and that he’s more apt to check-down, but who cares about that when you can just use a straw man.

If we play like we did against the West Virginia Whiners I think we win big. Crap shoot in college, especially with a true freshman QB. If our dline gets the same pressure be another fun game for the cardinal and gold.
Bowman had 2 fumbles, an int and was sacked twice in his most recent game (Kansas) and they still won that game by 32. I think you gotta go after Bowman, but maybe we don't see as many safety blitzes like we saw against WVU.
I think we are saying the same thing: It would not surprise me at all if the ISU defense shuts TTU down, at least by there standards. Still expect 20 points or so. I also think that they will send at least one blitzer from somewhere on passing downs. With an immobile QB there is a lot less to worry out them scrambling away, but Bowman is good enough that you don't want to give him forever back there. I trust the ISU DC to come up with something special for them.
West Virginia has Sills (6-4), Jennings (6-2), and Simmons (6-2). Not exactly Tech's combo of Vasher (6-6) and Wesley (6-5) but still quite a bit of size. Akron also had a little bit of size with Morris (6-4) and Stewart (6-2). The biggest receivers that ISU's DBs have faced this season are the ones they go against every day, though. With the ability to match-up with Eaton (6-4) and Butler (6-6) every day in practice I'm not terribly worried about them not knowing how to defend Tech's size. Not to mention most of these guys had to deal with Butler and Lazard all of last year.
Having that safety cloud over the top of our corners really gives them the freedom to be aggressive. I love our defense.
