A steamer from Cleveland? If that's your thing I guess...It makes me nervous that this pick will be a real steamer.
I may be a little on the juvenile side too.

Kwesi officially the next GM. Now curious to see who gets 2nd interviews
This is QUITE juicy!!
Second round pick and Baker for Cousins? Thoughts? Personally I would want a first. But there is no way someone pays a 1 for Cousins

This is important to consider, as long as he isn't driving the thing entirely. Not sure I want Baker as Jefferson didn't seem to be his biggest fan with the "Free Odell" shirts when OBJ was in Cleveland. But, that could've been about Stefanski too
Would they make a commercial with him moving into his new house?Baker does have those insurance commercials... They are fairly amusing.

Not to take on a better cap number for a much less effective QB.Anybody willing to take that albatross of a contract is good in my book.

If you dump cousins then it needs to be a cap, clearing, tanking fire sale to revamp the roster, particularly the bottom 3 defense paid like a top 10 defense.
There just can't be any in-between. If you are going to try to win next year, then you might as well just keep Cousins, tweak where you can on the OL and on defense and see what happens. If you can offload Cousins and get some decent return for it, then you need to start gutting the roster, particularly on the over-priced, past their prime, underperforming defense.
It would be classic Vikings to make enough roster moves to slightly help the cap, get a serviceable (but not good QB) to keep living in the 6-9 win purgatory.
How hard would it be to move on from Baker if he sucks here?
I would definitely take a 2nd and Baker for Cousins. Baker didn't have a very good year, but he doesn't irritate nearly as much as Cousins does. He can at least feel pressure, tries to avoid it, doesn't constantly fumble, and seems like a better leader. Yeah, he's going to throw more picks and ground balls, but you at least feel like you've got a chance.
Maybe it is better to take Mayfield... the team will suck even worse and the Vikings can get a higher draft pick in 2023.He is in his 5th year option of his rookie contract. $18.9M cap hit. Cousins carries a $45M cap hit (Cut or plays in Minnesota). $10M of that staying with Minnesota even in a trade. So Baker would "carry" a $29M cap hit if you want to think of it that way

Of those four, I'd take O'Connell. But I think KAM will end up with Ryans.
A little surprised that Bienemy is not on many HC lists.

This is correct, but I feel we still have the talent to make a run next year if we can get solid coaching. Keep cousins one more year and see what happens. If you want to tank then you just trade Cousins and play a season with Kellen Mond.
Well, Mond sucks so they would certainly be tanking. If you want to tank then you just trade Cousins and play a season with Kellen Mond.
