Next year's schedule

Please... if anything you are making some extravagant assumptions on future teams performance. Looking at ISU's performance vs the 4 teams, UT, OU, A&M, and OSU since Big12 play was formed:

1996 - Big12 ISU vs (record, points forced, allowed):

UT 0-6, 120 PF - 252 PA
OU 0-6, 50 PF - 201 PA
A&M 1-5, 146 PF - 231 PA
OSU 3-4, 163 PF - 194 PA

Its pretty obvious that based off ISU's past performance vs those teams that ISU fares better off against A&M and OSU. Granted, things can change in conference play, but until OSU beats OU on a regular basis, and A&M beats the cr@p out of Texas, I will stick to my guns on this one.

That good enough? I can keep going...
Yeah, because 1999 OSU=2009 OSU. :biglaugh: That is a ridiculous statement. Like I said Ace000087= lazy no analysis.Teams are always changing. You have to look at current trends more then something that happened 10 years ago. aTm looks to be on the upswing while TT may be on the downswing. OSU is freaking hot and is a better team than OU. Still doesn't matter...we were 1-2 against the South this year. We could very well be 1-2 against the South next year. So tell me how picking up OU and Texas makes one bit of difference. It doesn't. Nada, zip zero.

Utah is the only thing that really changes our schedule. It is a tough game but they lose 12 starters next year. 5 on offense and 7 on defense and the game is early and at home. Where as we lose very little. You just never know how teams like Utah will be in a year or two. Schedule those teams while they are hot and most likely you get them in down time.

The home and away sets up better next year as well. Even KSU at Arrowhead. If you were talking two years from now I would agree with you. The home and away sets up horribly two years from now.

Because we post a schedule and say it's favorable we're in the wrong? No one was analyzing anythign at this...just posting. Never once were those schedules advertised as "analysis". Get over yourself.

What's your problem, anyway? All you ever do on here is criticize other posters? Should I PM you before I post from now on to get your permissioin?

more on Utah...
  1. they lose their top 4 tacklers.
  2. They lose 7 of their top 11 tacklers
  3. 3 of their top 4 receivers
  4. Replace most of those Sr's with Freshman, RFr, and Soph.
  5. Their recruiting classes match up with ours real close. Rankings are 2008-Utah 60 ISU62, 2007 ISU 60, Utah 71, 2006 Utah 55, ISU 663...etc.etc.
They will be really young and they play Pitt the week before so it isn't like they can focus on just us. We will be a much older more experienced team.

IMO- Teams like Utah, UConn,ect are up and down. If you schedule them when they are down, you have a chance of playing them while they are hot. But if you schedule them while they are hot they could very well be down by the time you play them. Look at iowa and Syracuse for example. Somebody tell me how good UConn will be two years form now. Who knows

I'm not saying Utah won't be good. t

I think he is saying it is way too far in the future to know what any team on those schedules will be like. KSU annd Mizzou are prime examples this year. Who would have thought KSU would be making a push to win the North and Mizzou would be bringing up the rear?

That is my point as well. Ace000087 brought up our record against OSU since the begining of the Big 12. I don't really care about 10-15 years ago. Let's look over the last 0-5 years. OSU is a prime example. They had one winning season between 1996 and 2001. Exact opposite since then and the only losing season they had was after a coaching change.

aTm could very well rebuild to what they were in the 90's. If they do it will hurt either OU or Texas and definitely TT. College sports go up and down. Heck, Oklahoma was a .500 team in the 90's. aTm was great. The North beat up the South when the Big 12 started. That has shifted but nothign says it won't shift back.

Let me know what your crystal ball says for next year. While your at it, give me the winning lottery numbers since you can predict the future. Yea, OSU is "Hot" but we will see how they do vs OU. All I am saying is traditionally, and in RECENT past, OU and UT are tougher games than A&M and OSU, regardless of the season. OU and UT have the talent to "reload" and its a pretty save bet they will be good again next year. The South has been a deadlock for OU and UT to win every year. It will take a lot to change that.

Like I said, you can't predict anything and neither can I. And calling me "lazy" for looking at the schedule and giving my opinion is total garbage. Think before you post. I gave my "analysis" and you gave yours. IF your insight is so great, maybe you should go write the Big12 blog for ESPN. Hell you might even be better than Tim Griffin. Good luck with that.

Give me one other team on our schedule that we can't beat. And a bunch of the close games will be in Ames. TT is down and it is their OL, Nebraska loses Suh among others, Mizzou is human again, KU loses all of their offensive production, KSU loses half their starters, UNI, NIU, CU will be down, Iowa game is always up in the air.

At least I analyzed the schedule where as you were lazy and see Texas, OU, and Utah on the schedule and say it is tougher.

Also, I know where you are coming from. I said the same thing back before the 2006 season. We all know how that turned out. Next years schedule is different. Next years schedule is harder. Period.

Comparing this years, with next years schedule.

NDSU < NIU
Iowa < @Iowa
@Kent< Utah
Army < UNI

KSU = KSU
@KU > KU
@NU > NU
BU < Tech
@A&M < @OU
OSU < @UT

CU < @CU
@MO > MO

Next years schedule is more difficult. And different. lol
