Everything together- Red/white/grey/gold - Not Very good
Looks like 3 different people designed it.

I know 49ers fans are freaking out thinking they finally got the sh*tty gold they’ve always wanted, but is it really gold? Looks tan to me. You know- like the pants they wore back in 1923.

Hate the pants, what a strange color. Doesnt look "old gold" to me, just kinda tan. Silly putty.

Then with white, and gray, and red... idk too many colors for me overall. I dont hate the jersey or the helmet, but combined w the pants, i am not a fan. I think w white pants (or maybe even gray) i would be all in.

But my fashion sense is usually trash so maybe its ok. To each their own.

I liked them on the video board and then I went to see the mannequin and in the sun they actually look like peach. Really strange.

They wore red jerseys at home I believe. The yellow one was the road uniform that he was injured in.

The red was way too bright. Couple that with the new yellow/gold, and not a good look. The design was fine, shade of color wrong. IMO.

Agree, it's more a case of color tone way too bright, than the general design (which isn't perfect, but would be a cool enough retro-alt).

Here's a comparison of actual & a sample adjustment of the full pic (including background), on the fly, so obviously isn't a great example, mainly showing what'd be a little closer to appropriate cardinal/gold.

Good job! You got it. I was gonna do this when I had some time. But you've got the idea, and did it.. Yes, the design isn't bad, in fact, it's pretty good for the time. The cardinal and gold were just both way too bright.

I'd like to see a mock-up that's far more professional than mine, with same basic principle.

If there's one element I'd want to shift with it, the shoulder piping should have 2 gold stripes with white in the center, to match the jersey numeral (and semi-match w/ helmet stripe that has white in the middle of the cardinal).

Edit -two-gold/one-white also would blend better w/ gold helmet/gold pants. ... maybe the pant could use the double stripes, too, but that doesn't really bother me a lot

The gold of the last Trice uniforms is closer to our gold. Not this BC tan. Its fine, but I hate the tan gold of BC etc. They need to keep it a shade with more yellow tone to it. Chrome gold look, not cheap spray paint Gold look. The deeper more true shade of metallic/chrome gold is so much better looking, and more unique to us than others, ND is the only one that has more of a gold that we should use, but even deeper yellow shade than that too.

I could take your exact pic (mid to late 80's, I think), darken up the cardinal and gold, switch the stripes, as you suggest. I'd like to do that when I get time. I'd have to review some of my advanced photoshop skills, which I need to do anyway.

For now, I want to finish the Trice mockups, I'm working on. Then I'll get to it, if somebody else doesn't beat me to it. This old boy doesn't go too fast anymore. Every day is a 'some' day. I'll get to it 'some' day. LOL

Give me that combo and then you can also use a different decal with the old tornado logo on the helmet.

I also would love to see us use the football Cy logo as a patch maybe on our pants? I think the basketball team is going to put the basketball Cy on a set of uniforms next year.

Do you think these new commemorative Trice unis will somehow open the door to the 'powers that be' to at least be open to such suggestions?

For me, I would like them to add back our '70's sunflower gold. Anything else would be gravy.
