I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people in this thread. First alternative uniforms cost money, enough said there and we are a low priority for Nike so I doubt they will put a lot of effort into producing alternative uniforms for us considering they can't even you our real colors for our normal uniforms.

I've heard rumors we already have a dark grey alternate football uniforms. Heard they're basically these but ISU

Another uniform wrinkle, couldn't we just repaint the matte cardinal helmets white? pretty sure we're 0-6 in the matte anyways

I'm a fan of adding black and grey alternate uniforms, not changing the brand or logo. Black uniforms would be amazing IMO.

So the national media can further mistake us for the dorks to the east?

What about incorporating the old tornado logo on the uniforms in place of the generic shoulder pad stripes we have now. I don't have any graphic design skills, but in my head that's a sharp and unique uni feature.

If there's one good thing that came out of the Jeff Johnson experience it was the CYCLONE POWER chant. Much better than the spelling lesson that goes on at Kinnick every week.

I wish we said "Cyclone Warning" instead of power. "Power" is used by every school out there, especially high schools. "Warning" would sound cool. Heck, we even sell Cyclone Warning shirts.... not Cyclone Power.

Move lived in Big East/ACC territory, Pac12 territory, and SEC territory and you're simply wrong. Everybody who sees the I-State knows who it is. I'm Executive Platinum on American Airlines and I get comments about Iowa State on at least every other trip from my I-State jackets, ties, cuff links, bag tag, or whatever I might have with me at the time. I doubt that 19 out of 20 people even know that there's an Illinois State.

I'm not executive platinum, I'm blue collar and in Texas too, but I've ltravelled all over from Montana to Maine and not once has my I State logo been confused with Idaho State or Illinois State or any other school. I get direct questions and comments about ISU from people all over.

As I said in another thread, the alternates for the sake of alternates ship has already sailed. Recruits aren't going to line up at the door thinking you are Oregon just because you stole some jerseys from an XFL team and slapped your logo on them. Do you really think KU is going to get recruits because they have 47 different terrible uniform combos? Not that I'm not a big fan of a well done alternate (See Michigan, LSU, Arizona State), but being the 116th D1 team to have a gray alternate makes you blend in more than stand out.

We REALLY need to embrace the current home/away basketball uniforms for our football team. It's such a great look, I can't believe we don't do it.

Ok ok, we've tried a couple times, but I'm not sure our pants match quite right. Gotta wear white shoes, too.

New coach makes us due for a new look. Let's burn the current uniforms and appeal to recruits with multiple combinations. Bring back the Cyclone to the helmet, our identity. A red bird is not a cyclone, and yet to hear anyone refer to us as "I-State". Happy to see Campbell has used multiple uniforms....if he's the guy.

match the gold off of the pants in photo 2 and add white to the piping as seen in photo 1. Match the helmet color in photo 2 to the pants with the I-state logo. #winner

I-State logo must stay, but I'm all for new or alternate jerseys and cool with having Cy or a Tornado on some of the helmets as well.

And of course Smoke on the Water must go.

Can anyone ever explain to me why we have grey face masks? I just think it's odd that pretty much every other team's helmet has a colored face mask but us.

Same logo but new jerseys, alter the helmet a little, get rid of the dumb *** inflatable tunnel to run out on the field in. The AD should really be kicking themselves over not putting the tunnel between JTS and the lockeroom out on the field. That was as natural of an entrance as you can get but they didn't want to pony up the extra $100,000 to rerun existing infrastructure.

They wont need an inflatable tunnel when there's NEZ stands there.
